One UFC slugger is taking a break from prizefighting.<\/p>\n
Justin Tafa has fought under the UFC banner for most of his pro MMA career. He had been a member of the promotion\u2019s roster since 2019. Known for his fan-friendly fighting style, all of Tafa\u2019s wins have come via knockout.<\/p>\n
As of late, luck hasn\u2019t been on \u201cBad Man\u2019s\u201d side, as he has gone 1-2, 1 NC in his last four outings. To make matters worse, Tafa was pulled from the UFC Perth card back in September due to an illness.<\/p>\n
In a new post on his Instagram page<\/a>, Tafa revealed that he is taking the time to focus on his health and that means he\u2019s stepping away from fighting.<\/p>\n \u201cTaking time out of this fight game,\u201d Tafa wrote. \u201cThe body and mind needs time to recover, six major surgeries in the last three years does that to you. Time to enjoy the other fruits of life for now and enjoy watching my kids grow. Thank you @ufc had some good times in there.<\/p>\n \u201cGod willing If I return to fight again I will be a lot healthier and able to show you my true potential. If not then God has something else planned in store for me. I appreciate all the support and love, you guys pushed me on when I thought I couldn\u2019t. What a ride.\u201d<\/p>\n While Tafa left the door open to fighting again, it doesn\u2019t seem like a guarantee. Many fans believe there\u2019s bound to be a promotion that would want his services given his punching power, but the Australian will need to see how he\u2019s feeling after healing from his ailments.<\/p>\n Tafa\u2019s pro MMA record currently stands at 7-5, 1 NC. His last victory took place in 2023 when he knocked out former NFL defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Austen Lane. Since that fight, Tafa suffered losses to Karl Williams<\/a> and Tallison Teixeira<\/a>.<\/p>\n
