Pictures<\/a> in December 2024 with the animated Creature Commandos series. That was followed by Gunn\u2019s Superman movie, while Peacemaker Season 2 will premiere next month. Lanterns, Clayface, and Supergirl all arrive in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Before the DCU, Warner Bros. had the DCEU \u2014 a shared universe that began in 2013 with Man of Steel and ended in 2023 with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Gunn worked on DCEU projects such as 2021\u2019s The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1.<\/p>\n<p>What did James Gunn say about Black Adam and Shazam! 2?<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/tv\/peacemaker-season-2-preview-james-gunn-john-cena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Den of Geek<\/a>, Gunn recently confirmed that Black Adam and Shazam! 2, also known as Shazam! Fury of the Gods, are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tv\/614378-james-gunn-discusses-dceu-peacemaker-cameos-whats-canon-dcu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">not canon<\/a> to the DCU despite both movies including cameos from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/peacemaker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peacemaker<\/a> characters.<\/p>\n<p>He commented, \u201cThey\u2019re not canon! I hate it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some inaccurately took this to mean that Gunn was saying he hated both Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods; however, this is not the case.<\/p>\n<p>He clarified on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@jamesgunn\/post\/DMdIa7ZAwiv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Threads<\/a>, \u201cThis is the kind of nonsense you have to look out for in these posts. I never said I hated either of those films \u2013 I said I didn\u2019t like the way the 11th Street Kids were included, as I don\u2019t think Harcourt was ever the warden of an underwater prison, and I don\u2019t think Waller had anything to do with the Justice Society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/peacemaker-season-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peacemaker Season 2<\/a> deals with the DCEU\/DCU continuity change remains to be seen; fans need not worry, though, as Gunn has said multiple times that it will be addressed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Peacemaker Season 2 premieres on HBO Max on August 21, 2025.
