The Golden State Warriors<\/a> will enter the 2025-26 NBA season with an opportunity to compete for a title, if everything goes as well as possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, unfortunately, this might be one of the last years the Warriors will have an opportunity to say that, due to the players on the roster only getting older.<\/p>\n

With players like Draymond Green, Stephen Curry<\/a>, and Jimmy Butler getting older, the window is only shrinking for the Warriors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite that, Green, a multi-time champion and future Hall of Famer, believes Golden State still has an opportunity to win it all. In fact, he went so far as to say that the Warriors are in a better position now than they were a year ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, Batman [Curry] went down with a hamstring injury, and it kind of changed the outlook on things a little bit,\u201d he told Malika Andrews of ESPN<\/a>. \u201cWe think we\u2019re even in a better position now to win a championship than we were last year. Last year, Jimmy didn\u2019t even know any defensive terminology. We were just making it work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some of Green’s comments are more than fair, considering Curry was injured and Butler had only been there for a few months after the trade deadline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s impossible ever to count out a player like Curry, as well as Butler, who has performed in some big-time moments throughout the playoffs. Green has slowed down a bit himself as well, but that’s only to be expected with age.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, if he can continue to be an above-average defender and make the right plays offensively, which he’s done for his entire career, there’s an argument to be made that the Warriors could come out of the Western Conference. They might need some luck on their side, but the same can be said for nearly every team in the league.<\/p>\n
