Hollywood<\/a> star Jennifer Aniston<\/a> has opened up about her private 20-year struggle to conceive \u2013\u00a0and criticised the speculation she\u2019s faced as a result of having no children<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old Friends star, who currently appears in TV drama The Morning Show<\/a>, said she felt pressured to address \u201cthe narrative\u201d that suggested she hadn\u2019t had kids because she is \u201ca selfish workaholic\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn\u2019t know my story, or what I\u2019d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don\u2019t go out there and tell them my medical woes,\u201d Aniston told Harper\u2019s Bazaar UK<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actor said her personal life is not anybody\u2019s business but \u201cthere comes a point when you can\u2019t not hear the narrative about how I won\u2019t have a baby, won\u2019t have a family\u201d.<\/p>\n

Aniston said that as she has gotten older, she cares less about correcting the falsehoods \u201cbecause it will happen eventually\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe news cycle is so fast, it just goes away,\u201d she continued \u2013 but admitted she had felt the speculation to be unjust.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, there are times when I feel that sense of justice \u2013 when something has been said that isn\u2019t true, and I need to right the wrong. And then I think, do I really? My family knows my truth, my friends know my truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aniston, who was married to Brad Pitt<\/a> from 2000 to 2005 and to Justin Theroux<\/a> from 2015 to 2018, previously said \u201cthe baby-making road\u201d had been challenging for her.<\/p>\n

She told Allure<\/a> in 2022: \u201cI would\u2019ve given anything if someone had said to me, \u2018Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour\u2019. You just don\u2019t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed. But I have zero regrets.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy late thirties, forties, I\u2019d gone through really hard s***, and if it wasn\u2019t for going through that, I would\u2019ve never become who I was meant to be. I was trying to get pregnant.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that \u201cyears and years of speculation was really hard\u201d, adding: \u201cI was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
