{"id":206137,"date":"2025-10-11T22:54:22","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T22:54:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/206137\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T22:54:22","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T22:54:22","slug":"yacawych-even-through-36-holes-at-skidmore-fall-invitational","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/206137\/","title":{"rendered":"Yacawych Even Through 36 Holes at Skidmore Fall Invitational"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saratoga Springs, NY \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksonathletics.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/tyler-yacawych\/9141\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9141\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Yacawych<\/a> fired back-to-back 72s on Saturday as the Clarkson University Golf team played two full rounds of 18 holes to open up the Skidmore Invitational at the par-72, 7145-yard Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course.<\/p>\n<p>Through 36 holes, the Golden Knights sit in seventh place with a score of 596, trailing Amherst (578), Trinity (582), Williams (586), NYU (588), Skidmore (588), and Bowdoin (591) but ahead of Bates (602), Middlebury (604), Rensselaer &#8216;A&#8217; (604), Springfield (606), Salem State (607), Western New England (614), Wesleyan (622), Rensselaer &#8216;B&#8217; (643), and Roger Williams (644). The tournament will conclude on Sunday with its final 18 holes.<\/p>\n<p>Yacawych was solid throughout Saturday&#8217;s two rounds, ending the day with a score of 144 over 36 holes thanks to his consecutive rounds even-par 72. In the first round, he posted five birdies in clumps, going back-to-back on the second and third holes, and then getting three in a stretch of four on number-12, 14, and 15. In his second round of the day, he eagled the third hole and also picked up birdies on number-9 and number-14. That was good enough to put him in a tie for ninth in the field of 99 golfers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarksonathletics.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/luke-weisiger\/9140\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9140\" target=\"_blank\">Luke Weisiger<\/a> shot 148 for his two rounds, scoring 75 and then 73. His 75 saw him with a single birdie as he had numerous pars, but his second round had four birdies, including three in a row on the front nine (number-2, 3, 4) and then one on number-12. That put him in a tie for 24th in the field.<\/p>\n<p>One stroke behind Weisiger was classmate <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksonathletics.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/eric-spoth\/9137\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9137\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Spoth<\/a>, who shot 149 thanks to a 76 and then a 73. Spoth posted birdies on number-3 and number-15 in his first round and then picked up four in the second round of the day, repeating his birdie on number-3 and adding birds on 6, 12, and 17. Through two rounds, Spoth is tied for 29th.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksonathletics.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/brian-secor\/9145\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9145\" target=\"_blank\">Brian Secor<\/a> ended his day in a tie for 61st in the field with a 77 in his opening round and a 78 in his second trip around the course. Secor had birdies on number-3 and number-12 in his first round and repeated with a bird on number-3 in his second while also going one-under on number-18.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarksonathletics.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/ryan-makowski\/9136\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9136\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Makowski<\/a> had both of his scores dropped from the team tally, shooting 78 for the first round and then 80 in round two for a total of 158 to put him in a tie for 73rd. Makowski had 12 pars in his first tour of the course and then had three birdies in round two, going one-under on numbers-3, 6, and 12.<\/p>\n<p>Playing as an individual, senior <a href=\"https:\/\/clarksonathletics.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/aaron-walsh\/9139\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"9139\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Walsh<\/a> shot 84 in each of his rounds for a total of 168, putting him in a tie for 92nd.
