“For Winter Stations 2026, artists, designers, and architects are invited to tickle the boundary between\u00a0what is seen\u00a0and\u00a0what is real. The Stations should transform the shoreline into a place where illusion becomes architecture, offering glimpses of uncanny possibilities. Participants might also consider what imaginative public infrastructures could prompt people to set aside their devices and gather in shared reality.”<\/p>\n

Participants are free to choose any existing structure\u2013whether currently in use, abandoned, or neglected\u2013anywhere in the world. From unused storefronts and aging sheds to underutilized garages or portions of larger buildings, each project should demonstrate the potential to transform a limited footprint into something innovative and impactful.”<\/p>\n

The aim of the competition and award is to encourage and challenge students of architecture, and to create a deeper understanding of this specific and ever-relevant source of energy, light, and life.\u00a0
\nThe student teams will submit their project under the theme ‘Light of Tomorrow’ with special prizes given to the best projects demonstrating \u2018Natural light in new buildings\u2019, \u2018Daylight in building transformation\u2019, and \u2018Daylight Investigations.”<\/p>\n
