Amy Poehler\u2019s U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi refused to answer any questions and got some backup from Tina Fey\u2019s Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in tonight\u2019s \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d<\/a> cold open.<\/p>\n

Tonight may mark the official, 50th anniversary of \u201cSNL,\u201d but Poehler was all business in the night\u2019s cold open. Parodying Bondi\u2019s real-life Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this week, Poehler\u2019s Attorney General kicked things off by announcing that she was \u201cfurious to be here\u201d and followed that up by responding to all the questions directed at her with some pre-written burns.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy name is Pam Bondi. I spell it with an \u2018i\u2019 because I ain\u2019t gonna answer any of your questions,\u201d Bondi told James Austin Johnson\u2019s Chuck Grassley. \u201cMy time is valuable. The DOJ has many ongoing operations, and we\u2019re moving like Kash Patel\u2019s eyeballs \u2014 very quickly in multiple directions at once.\u201d Poehler\u2019s Bondi didn\u2019t hold back, either, once Tommy Brennan\u2019s Dick Durbin tried to throw some hard-hitting questions her way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI recognize Dick Durbin. His name sounds like something Diddy got arrested for,\u201d Poehler\u2019s U.S. Attorney General joked, before turning her attention to Ashley Padilla\u2019s Amy Klobuchar. \u201cWhile we\u2019re at it, Amy Klobuchar, your a\u2013s out here sounding like a Pokemon. \u2018I choose you, Klobuchar!\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

As Poehler\u2019s Bondi continued to deflect the Senate\u2019s questions, Fey arrived with an assault rifle in hand to back up her fellow MAGA official. \u201cThat\u2019s right. It\u2019s me, Kristi. I spelled my name with an \u2018i\u2019 because that\u2019s how I thought it was spelled,\u201d Fey\u2019s Homeland Security Secretary explained. \u201cI\u2019m the rarest type of person in Washington D.C.: a brunette that Donald Trump listens to.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the Senate committee told her that Democrats were even more eager to end the current government shutdown than Republicans, Fey\u2019s Noem replied, \u201cHa! That makes me laugh more than the end of \u2018Old Yeller.\u2019\u201d In response, Mikey Day\u2019s baffled Richard Blumenthal asked, \u201cWhen the dog gets shot!?!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDogs don\u2019t just get shot. Heroes shoot them,\u201d Fey\u2019s Noem proudly countered. \u201cSpeaking of heroes, our government agents are working without pay. Luckily, my boys at ICE don\u2019t mind. They\u2019re in it for the love of the game.\u201d Fey\u2019s Homeland Security Secretary proceeded to recite some of the recruiting questions she asks prospective ICE agents, including, \u201cDo you need a job now?,\u201d \u201cAre you a big tough guy?\u201d and \u201cDo you take supplements that you bought at a gas station?\u201d<\/p>\n

If the answer to those questions is \u201cyes,\u201d then Fey\u2019s Noem says, \u201cBuckle up and slap on some Oakleys, big boy. Welcome to ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n
