A street altercation in front of a condominium in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, recently went viral after one man ended up losing a fight he started \u2014 unaware his opponent was a trained MMA fighter<\/p>\n

The video, widely circulated online<\/a>, shows two men arguing on a pedestrian walkway.<\/p>\n

According to its caption, the man in the black shirt is allegedly a head security guard of the condominium known for frequently harassing people.<\/p>\n

In the footage, the man in black can be seen aggressively confronting the other man wearing a red singlet, trying to provoke a reaction.<\/p>\n

He taunted him repeatedly, saying, “Punch me! Are you a boy or a girl? If you’re a boy, then hit me.”<\/p>\n

He also beat his own head and hurled slurs at the other man, calling him a “pondan” and accusing him of being afraid to fight.<\/p>\n

Despite the provocation, the man in red appeared calm. A woman was also seen trying to defuse the situation.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the man in red \u2014 said to be an amateur MMA featherweight champion \u2014 took the other man down and placed him in a chokehold<\/p>\n

He can be heard asking security personnel to call the police. However, he is instructed to release the man instead.<\/p>\n

Once freed, the man in black immediately tried to resume the fight \u2014 only to be met with a punch to the face that sent him stumbling into a metal pole.<\/p>\n

The MMA fighter involved, 22-year-old Tony Lim, has since explained on social media that he merely acted in self-defence<\/p>\n

In a phone call <\/a>with local personality Caprice, shared on Instagram, Lim said he recognised the security guard from an earlier viral video<\/a> where he assaulted another condominium resident.<\/p>\n

According to Lim, his confrontation last Thursday night, 10 July, began when the security guard suddenly pointed at him while he was collecting a parcel downstairs.<\/p>\n

Lim asked why he was being singled out, and the guard accused him of being the person who made the earlier video go viral.<\/p>\n

“To clarify, I am not the one who viralled (sic) the video. I just want to say simply: the guy provoked me, and I just defended myself,” he told Caprice.<\/p>\n

He added that, to his knowledge, the guard has since been removed from the condominium’s security team.<\/p>\n

According to the New Straits Times<\/a>, there has been no official comment from the condominium’s management or the security company involved.<\/p>\n

Serdang district police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad later confirmed that the incident has been resolved amicably<\/p>\n

“Both men lodged police reports on 10 July and decided they were willing to make peace with one another, so we closed that case,” he said, according to the New Straits Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He urged the public to always remain civil and not to resort to violence, warning that anyone found breaking the law could face stern action.<\/p>\n

Police are also investigating the circulation of the video under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act and are currently looking for the person who uploaded it.<\/p>\n
