When Jorjadze, the general manager, told his team he wanted an out-of-the-box idea to create more value for existing and prospective members, the result was launching \u201cFight Night\u201d in 2021. Sports Business Journal joined Jorjadze and his team for the club\u2019s fifth edition of the event in September to learn how it comes together.<\/p>\nThe event typically takes more than six months to plan and requires the help of all 45 Tower Club Dallas employees to help with tasks such as building the ring, decorating and serving food and drinks. Though Jorjadze declined to share the event\u2019s cost, he believes that with a sold-out attendance of 300 individuals, the event will generate between $50,000 and $70,000 in revenue. Tickets range from $85 to $275.<\/p>\n
Logistically, \u201cFight Night\u201d is the most difficult event to put together, as it requires organizers to find a governing body to sanction the event \u2014 in this case, it\u2019s USA Boxing \u2014 and create faux locker rooms for fighters. For the first iterations of the event, former boxer turned coach and gym owner Tony Mack and his team were responsible for building the 300-plus-piece ring in the club\u2019s private event space. <\/p>\n
Jorjadze said the staff used to put together the ring on their own, \u201cbut we realized we needed a professional team after the first year, when it was a disaster. Pieces went to the wrong place; it was difficult to assemble.\u201d<\/p>\n
Indeed, the first year, prior to the night of the event, didn\u2019t present a promising future for Jorjadze and the club. Despite advertising \u201cFight Night\u201d to members and non-members three months in advance, ticket sales were initially low until the day of the event.<\/p>\n
Five years onward, the event now attracts names like professional boxer Charles Hatley and current and former NFLers such as Sam Williams, Eric Warfield and more. Gaining and retaining NFL-related talent is a goal for the event, as the club offers a discount for individuals with an NFLPA membership. The club also recently hosted a FIFA-related donor event with the Dallas World Cup Committee in late August. <\/p>\n
Tower Club Dallas membership costs start with a one-time $100 initiation fee followed by a monthly membership, which ranges from $253 to $300. The club features an upscale restaurant and bar, working spaces and access to all club events, from networking to sports.<\/p>\n
As Jorjadze looks ahead, he sees sports as the impetus for more growth at Tower Club Dallas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve talked about different sports and what else we can create.
