{"id":209690,"date":"2025-10-13T11:21:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T11:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/209690\/"},"modified":"2025-10-13T11:21:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T11:21:08","slug":"busy-philipps-on-insanely-inappropriate-plot-from-dawsons-creek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/209690\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy Philipps On &#8220;Insanely Inappropriate&#8221; Plot From &#8216;Dawson&#8217;s Creek&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNearly 30 years after <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/dawsons-creek\/\">Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/a> premiered, cast alum <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/busy-philipps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Busy Philipps<\/a> recently admitted that one particular storyline did not age well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlthough the actress debuted as Pacey\u2019s (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/joshua-jackson\/\">Joshua Jackson<\/a>) future girlfriend Audrey on Season 5 in 2001, she explained why she played a different character during last month\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/dawsons-creek-cast-reunite-benefit-james-van-der-beek-1236493457\/\">live reading of the pilot episode<\/a> benefitting F Cancer, following co-star <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/james-van-der-beek\/\">James Van Der Beek<\/a>\u2018s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/james-van-der-beek-colorectal-cancer-diagnosis-1236165869\/\">Stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThey\u2019re not even together [in the pilot],\u201d Philipps told <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/busy-philipps-looks-back-on-insanely-inappropriate-dawsons-creek-storyline-involving-joshua-jackson-exclusive-11827347\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">People<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s going to have a really insanely inappropriate relationship with a teacher, which by the way, is so wild. And just goes to show you culturally how much we have changed for the better, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDuring the reading at Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City, Philipps read the part of Tamara Jacobs (originally played by Leann Hunley in the 1998 pilot), the 36-year old English teacher who takes her 15-year old student Pacey\u2019s virginity in the first episode. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cKevin Williamson didn\u2019t write the part of Audrey, he wasn\u2019t a part of that,\u201d Philipps noted. \u201cHe was already long gone from the show when they went to college, and my character was added.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-deadline-2019\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Dawsons-Creek-Joshua-Jackson-Busy-Philipps-2-shot.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"577\" width=\"1024\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPhilipps added, \u201cAfter the [charity reading], I said, \u2018Well, Kevin, I guess you did write a part for me on Dawson\u2019s Creek.
