Internet provider Bluepeak announced Oct. 13 that it has upgraded connection speeds for more than 25,000 customers in South Dakota and Minnesota as part of a multi-year effort to expand and modernize its regional fiber network.<\/p>\n

According to the company, the complimentary upgrades raise customers\u2019 minimum speeds to 300 megabits per second, a change Bluepeak says will improve reliability for typical household uses such as streaming and remote work. Bluepeak\u2019s efforts will also support local businesses that rely on higher bandwidth, according to the company.<\/p>\n

Bluepeak CEO Rich Fish is quoted in the company\u2019s Monday release<\/a> describing the move as an investment in \u201cthe digital future\u201d of the communities served.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is more than a technical upgrade,\u201d Fish said. \u201cIt\u2019s an investment in the digital future of these communities, designed to drive economic growth, innovation, and opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rollout follows Bluepeak\u2019s broader expansion across several states, including Oklahoma, Wyoming, North Dakota and Texas. Meanwhile, the firm has also emphasized local hiring and community involvement as part of its infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
