\n\tHoward Stern<\/a> recently appeared on SiriusXM\u2019s \u201cAndy Cohen Live\u201d (via Entertainment Weekly<\/a>) and denied having a feud with Oprah<\/a> despite his history of criticizing the TV icon. Stern called out Oprah<\/a> in 2022 for showing off her wealth on social media, and he made headlines<\/a> in 2004 after publicly calling for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to investigate Oprah\u2019s daytime talk show. The FCC was coming after Stern at the time, so he argued that Oprah should also be targeted because her show covered questionable material like teenage sex.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think about who are Howard Stern\u2019s kind of enemies at this point, or punching bags,\u201d Andy Cohen told Stern during the recent interview. \u201cAnd I get the sense that you\u2019ve either publicly or privately kind of mended fences with them, but it seems like Oprah might be the only kind of Howard Stern foe or enemy that you still have?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNo, I love Oprah,\u201d Stern replied. \u201cI follow Oprah. I enjoy watching Oprah.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked by Cohen if he\u2019s ever spoken to Oprah, Stern answered: \u201cNever. I think she\u2019s afraid. I know [Winfrey\u2019s best friend] Gayle King very well. And I think at one point she suggested, \u2018Oh, we should get together with Oprah.\u2019 I said, \u2018You better check with Oprah. You better. Don\u2019t surprise her with me.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStern added that he is \u201cfascinated by Oprah,\u201d explaining: \u201cI like sometimes how Oprah is so unaware. Maybe she is aware, but I suspect \u2014 I\u2019m an Oprah follower, but sometimes she\u2019s unaware of the sort of way she shows her wealth. I couldn\u2019t do that. I\u2019m not saying that she\u2019s wrong. We all know she\u2019s wealthy. But I think in the world right now, there is such a disparity between those who have and those who have not. And it\u2019s only getting worse\u2026 so I find it funny. And I\u2019m not gonna sit there and tell you I don\u2019t think it\u2019s funny. I go, \u2018Wow, Oprah is unapologetically wealthy,\u2019 and good for her. But I don\u2019t hate Oprah at all. I think she\u2019s brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring the Nov. 28, 2022 episode of \u201cThe Howard Stern Show,\u201d the radio icon said \u201cit\u2019s fucking mind blowing\u201d to follow Oprah on Instagram because she flaunts her wealth.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou see her estates, her gardens, the people who service her and, you know\u2026 She\u2019s got servants and, like, people cooking and it\u2019s fucking wild,\u201d he added at the time. \u201cShe knows how to be rich\u2026 She kind of likes to show it off, which is something I\u2019m not comfortable with. I don\u2019t think that people should show off their wealth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOprah never responded to Stern\u2019s criticism. Speaking to Cohen, Stern said that \u201cI would sit down with Oprah\u201d for a new interview but \u201cOprah wouldn\u2019t sit down with me. I think Oprah feels\u2026 you know what? Oprah doesn\u2019t need it. You know what? I\u2019m gonna advise Oprah: Stay away from me, because you don\u2019t need it.\u201d<\/p>\n
