The very top players aren\u2019t present here after an intense tournament in Wuhan, but there\u2019s still plenty of top-level players and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2025\/10\/13\/wta-ningbo-day-2-predictions-raducanu-zhu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">high-quality matches to look forward to<\/a>. But who will advance?<\/p>\n<p>WTA Ningbo Day 2 Predictions<br \/>\nClara Tauson vs Ajla Tomljanovic<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: Tauson 2-2 Tomljanovic<\/p>\n<p>Tauson has been on the cusp of a top 10 debut for a while, but her results in recent tournaments have been quite disappointing and have stopped her from taking that step so far. This tournament is another opportunity. Despite the 2-2 head-to-head record, she is clearly a superior player to Tomljanovic at this point in their respective careers and should have a clear edge here.<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Tauson in 2<\/p>\n<p>Hanyu Guo vs Liudmila Samsonova<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: first meeting<\/p>\n<p>On paper, this is one of the most one-sided matchups we will see the entire week. While Guo does have the home advantage here, Samsonova is the far higher-ranked player for a reason. Guo played well in qualifying to reach the main draw, but under normal circumstances, Samsonova should be the one advancing here.<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Samsonova in 2<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"oyxJuAIORCRE3qq_K78sow\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/2239319130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yue Yuan vs Xinyu Wang<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: Yuan 1-1 Wang<\/p>\n<p>Wang might be the higher ranked player, but on current form Yuan seems to have the advantage here. She played at a very good level in Wuhan, making it very competitive against Jasmine Paolini, while Wang comes into this tournament on a four match losing streak. It should be a very close match either way, but it is fair to give Yuan a slight edge.<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Yuan in 3<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Mboko vs Dayana Yastremska<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: first meeting<\/p>\n<p>After her amazing title run in Canada, Mboko hasn\u2019t really backed it up thus far, losing three matches in a row since. Given her talent, however, it seems to be only a matter of time before she has another big result and this tournament is another opportunity to do so.
