It\u2019s a calling, and you\u2019re going to do it or you\u2019re not going to make it,\u201d Urban explained in the premiere episode, according to a sneak peek obtained by\u00a0Daily Mail<\/a>. <\/p>\n He continued, \u201cWhen you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning and you\u2019re sick as a dog, you\u2019re in the middle of nowhere and you\u2019ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and you haven\u2019t slept, and you miss your friends, and you\u2019re missing your family, and you\u2019re completely lonely and miserable and sick, and you say to yourself: \u2018Why am I doing this?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe only answer can be: because this is what I\u2019m born to do,\u201d Urban added before introducing the new CBS show\u2019s contestants. \u201cWe\u2019re going to find out who\u2019s made for that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n Keith Urban and Blake Shelton in a promo shot for the new CBS music competition show, \u201cThe Road.\u201d CBS<\/p>\n The 12 contestants from Season 1 of \u201cThe Road.\u201d CBS<\/p>\n \u201cThe Road,\u201d which premieres on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 19, follows 12 aspiring musicians as they compete to open for Urban<\/a> at music venues across the country.<\/p>\n Described as a new music competition, Gretchen Wilson serves as the tour manager for the series.
