A new study has revealed the most valuable squads in football with one Premier League<\/a> side outstripping their rivals after seeing player valuations soar by over \u00a3300m in one year.<\/p>\n

The CIES Football Observatory<\/a>, which uses a statistical model for estimating transfer values, has analysed the differing valuations over the past year.<\/p>\n

According to the study, Chelsea<\/a> have the most valuable squad in football with Enzo Maresca<\/a>\u2019s side reportedly worth \u00a31.56billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cole Palmer<\/a> is the highest valued player in their squad, with the star valued as highly as \u00a3140m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The analysis may suggest the transfer strategy adopted by Chelsea’s owners\u00a0Todd Boehly<\/a>\u00a0and Clearlake Capital to invest in young talent may be paying dividends.<\/p>\n

Over the summer, the Blues had invested heavily again in the transfer market with Alejandro Garnacho<\/a>, Joao Pedro, Estevao, Liam Delap, Jorrel Hato, Dario Essugo and Jamie Gittens among their signings.<\/p>\n

The estimates came as part of an analysis which revealed Chelsea’s squad had risen more in value than any other side over the past 12 months.\u00a0
The\u00a0CIES Football Observatory, which uses a\u00a0statistical model for estimating transfer values, analysed valuations over the past year.<\/p>\n

Consideration has also been given to the financial balance of club’s transfer activities during both the January and\u00a0summer transfer<\/a> windows.<\/p>\n

Chelsea’s squad value was viewed to have increased by around \u00a3315m, following a campaign which saw the Blues\u00a0win the FIFA Club World Cup and Conference League, as well as securing a return to Champions League football.<\/p>\n

Chelsea were the top ranked club in the study with reigning Champions League holder Paris\u00a0St-Germain following.<\/p>\n

The French giants reportedly saw the valuation of their squad rise by \u00a3263m.<\/p>\n

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt followed on a net increase of \u00a3255m, partly helped by the club achieving a profit of \u00a373m from transfers, aided by the sale of Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Barcelona were fourth in the list with a net increase of \u00a3210m, followed by Nottingham Forest after their impressive performances in the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n

Brentford, Bournemouth and Newcastle followed with net increases of \u00a3165m, \u00a3156m and \u20ac143m respectively, with Bayern Munich and Villarreal completing the top 10.<\/p>\n

Manchester United, by contrast, were the lowest ranked club in the study with the estimated value of their squad claimed to have reduced by \u00a3327 million \u2013 partly owning to a \u00a3108m transfer outlay.<\/p>\n

Man City had the second biggest depreciation on \u00a3273m, followed by Real Madrid and West Ham with \u00a3187m and \u00a3160m respectively.<\/p>\n

Overall, Chelsea were deemed to have the most valuable squad across football, with the study\u00a0encompassing all players owned by the clubs.<\/p>\n

Chelsea had 50 included in the overall valuation, while\u00a0second placed Real Madrid had an estimated value of \u00a31.46billion from just 32 players.<\/p>\n

Man City and Arsenal followed with their squads estimated to be worth over \u00a31.29billion, just ahead of PSG and Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Barcelona and Tottenham were the only other clubs to see their valuations pass the \u20ac1billion mark, with valuations at \u00a31.17billion and \u00a3908million.<\/p>\n
