As an official partner of the NBA, Sportradar has sourced the rights for the league, which will be accessible to users in the US, Canada, and select countries worldwide.<\/p>\n
Sportradar also has partnerships with more than 30 global basketball federations and leagues.<\/p>\n
The company said it will \u201ccontinue working with the NBA to ensure seamless technical delivery and to identify new rights and emerging leagues with growing global appeal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sportradar serves as the exclusive provider of NBA data worldwide and has had a partnership with the league since 2016.<\/p>\n
The last extension between the two parties\u00a0was an eight-year affair\u00a0unveiled in 2021, with GlobalData Sport valuing that deal at $240 million. That agreement also involved the league taking an equity stake in the Switzerland-based company.<\/p>\n
The number of international players in the NBA has grown significantly in recent years, with the 2024-25 season featuring\u00a0a record\u00a0125 players from\u00a043 countries\u00a0on opening-night rosters.<\/p>\n
This\u00a0marked\u00a0the fourth consecutive season that the NBA featured at least 120 international players.<\/p>\n
As well as a new multi-platform streaming offering, the NBA will roll out a \u201creimagined\u201d NBA TV channel, which will offer 24-hour basketball content.<\/p>\n
The league\u2019s in-house NBA TV offering can also be accessed through the NBA App and will deliver a mix of live games, programming, highlights, and original content.<\/p>\n
Games from the women\u2019s WNBA, NBA G League, and the Basketball Africa League will also be available.<\/p>\n
NBA TV will air 60 games during the regular season, beginning on October 25 when the defending Oklahoma City Thunder face the Atlanta Hawks.<\/p>\n
Fans can continue viewing NBA TV via cable providers. It is currently broadcast to roughly 33 million homes in the US.<\/p>\n
Live NBA and WNBA games on NBA TV can be accessed on the NBA App with an NBA TV subscription.<\/p>\n
Sara Zuckert, NBA senior vice president and head of NBA App, said: \u201cNBA TV and the NBA App are designed to be a connected, global hub for basketball coverage, delivering nonstop access to live games, original programming and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe NBA App streaming platform will provide a seamless, always-on digital experience for fans to access 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.\u201d<\/p>\n
The league has now fully taken over operations of NBA TV and the NBA League Pass subscription service, previously run in conjunction with Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s (WBD) TNT Sports.<\/p>\n
The upcoming 2025-26 season will be the first since 1988 to not feature on TNT as the NBA begins new 11-year media rights deals with Disney, NBC, and Amazon.<\/p>\n
The trio will pay a combined $76 billion to show live games through the 2035-36 campaign.<\/p>\n
WBD will, however, continue to have a partnership with the NBA for the next 11 years, with access to\u00a0a significant amount of NBA content domestically and abroad.<\/p>\n
TNT Sports and its portfolio of brands \u2013 including the Bleacher Report and House of Highlights digital platforms \u2013 will receive a global license to create, produce, and distribute new and existing NBA content across its platforms.<\/p>\n
The agreement includes expanded global content and highlights rights for TNT Sports, Bleacher Report, and House of Highlights, with the ability to produce and distribute NBA content across the WBD portfolio, along with “promotion, sales, and creative commitments across both NBA and WBD platforms.”<\/p>\n
This agreement did not include the continued management of the NBA\u2019s in-house assets, but it still maintains a long-standing relationship between the two.<\/p>\n
