For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Vancouver, I\u2019m going with a \u2018hometown\u2019 hero. Let\u2019s get it on, c\u2019mon!<\/p>\n

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Vancouver
\nUFC Fight Night: de Ridder vs Allen (aka UFC Vancouver)<\/a><\/p>\n

Start Time: 4:00 PM EST \u2013 (ESPN+)<\/p>\n

I have \u2018hometown\u2019 in quotations above because Canadian Kyle Nelson<\/a>\u2018s home base of Stoney Creek, Ontario (my home for the first six months of my life) is 2700 miles away from Vancouver. However, the crowd will be on the side of all the Canadian fighters on the card, so Nelson has that advantage.<\/p>\n

But the real reason I\u2019m taking \u2018The Monster\u2019 is because his opponent, Matt Frevola, is coming off being heavily knocked out in his last two fights. And Nelson has knockout power, with six career knockouts, including his last win. Nelson should be able to outstrike Frevola on Saturday night, and he also has solid grappling skills to keep this fight standing if he chooses.<\/p>\n
