Cheryl Hines braved The View Tuesday morning for a tense appearance with some of her husband\u2019s fiercest critics.<\/p>\n

Hines\u2019 interview to promote her new book Unscripted<\/a> began innocently enough, as co-host Sara Haines politely asked her about how she and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. met. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s \u201ccompletely different from anyone I had ever met in my life,\u201d Hines gushed, concluding the first and last lighthearted moment of the interview. \u201cThat\u2019s for sure,\u201d Joy Behar added sarcastically, as Sunny Hostin jumped in to grill Hines about the Health Secretary\u2019s track record. <\/p>\n

\u201cHow did you feel about his decision to suspend his campaign and support Trump and did you share any concerns that you may have had about that?\u201d Hostin asked. Hines stuttered her way through her answer as she would several others throughout the interview, as the hosts took turns asking her about Kennedy\u2019s \u201cdangerous\u201d impact. <\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I always share all of my concerns with with my husband,\u201d Hines said, but \u201cI have not been a political person.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hines has drawn fierce criticism for her support of Kennedy\u2019s political aspirations, particularly as he aligned himself with Trump after he dropped his own presidential campaign last year. The Curb Your Enthusiasm star has been subject to brutal internet roastings<\/a> and shunned by industry peers<\/a>, but has remained by his side and kept any criticisms she may have had about his moves as Health Secretary to herself. <\/p>\n

On The View, however, she echoed some of the views his critics find most problematic\u2014particularly Kennedy\u2019s suspicions about vaccines in children and Tylenol for pregnant women.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat would you say, and I know you\u2019re not a medical professional, but to women who now feel anxious and nervous because their doctors are telling them one thing, but the top public health professionals are telling them something very different\u201d about whether or not they should take Tylenol while pregnant, Trump\u2019s former aide Alyssa Farah Griffin asked. <\/p>\n

\u201cWell, they said consult your doctor before taking it,\u201d Hines answered, though Trump specifically said last month<\/a>, \u201cDon\u2019t take it. Don\u2019t take it. There\u2019s no downside in not taking it\u2026don\u2019t take Tylenol.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hines also parroted her husband\u2019s views on vaccinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan we listen to parents who say, my child got the vaccine and changed and stopped hitting markers, stopped developing the way they were developing\u2014can we listen to people when they say that?\u201d Hines said as she tried to defend Kennedy\u2019s conspiracies. She also declared that despite the Trump administration\u2019s\u2019 new limitations on who can obtain COVID-19 vaccinations, \u201cboth\u201d Trump and Kennedy Jr. \u201cwant access to vaccines,\u201d further activating her interviewers. <\/p>\n

Behar told Hines, \u201cIt\u2019s not fair to really put you on the spot about him because you\u2019re his wife. I know that, but when you say that they are pro-vaccine, it seems as though Bobby and Trump are casting doubt on the efficacy of the vaccine, which makes Americans very nervous\u2014so that\u2019s the problem that we\u2019re having.\u201d Behar\u2019s interjection drew applause from the crowd. <\/p>\n

Hostin\u2019s critiques of Kennedy grew fiercer as Hines tried to argue that her husband was qualified to be health secretary because of \u201ceverything I have seen him do\u201d that \u201che has dedicated his career to.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem, respectfully, is that your husband is the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head that we\u2019ve had in history,\u201d Hostin retorted. \u201cI think that\u2019s very dangerous.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hines insisted Kennedy was no less qualified than \u201cone of Obama\u2019s,\u201d who was an economist. \u201cHow is he less qualified than an economist?\u201d Hines argued. It only grew more tense on the panel when Hines disagreed that her husband\u2019s medical theories were \u201cmisinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you say, you know, \u2018misinformation,\u2019 \u2018disinformation\u2019…\u201d Hines began, trying to verbally craft her defense. Hostin jumped in, like \u201cwhen he\u2019s connecting circumcision to autism,\u201d before her co-hosts and Hines insisted she wait for a rebuttal. \u201cFauci\u2014people were saying when you get the vaccine, you cannot transmit COVID. It will stop COVID. And that was disinformation, misinformation,\u201d Hines said. <\/p>\n

The hosts tried to take the temperature down on the conversation before it ended, and Behar asked the actress to confirm: \u201cDoes he or does he not have a brain worm<\/a>?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt ate just a little bit of his brain and died, so don\u2019t worry,\u201d Hines replied. <\/p>\n

Goldberg thanked Hines at the end of the tense exchange, \u201cWe don\u2019t often get people on this show who we can ask these questions to, and I appreciate that you came on.\u201d <\/p>\n

Later, during the hosts\u2019 recap of the conversation, Behar said, \u201cI think that we should have more Republicans on the show, but they don\u2019t want to come on.
