Back in May, guitarist Jim Root said that he had completed \u201csix arrangements\u201d for a new album<\/a>, despite previously claiming that he had\u00a0\u201cnearly zero inspiration\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The band have yet to release any new material since 2022\u2019s\u00a0\u2018The End So Far\u2019<\/a>, though\u00a0they teased a new song \u2018Long May You Die\u2019<\/a>, recorded shortly after new drummer Eloy Casagrande joined Slipknot in early 2024. Nothing has come out of that tease so far.<\/p>\n

Now, in a new interview, Casagrande has revealed that the band are working on new music.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Drummer\u2019s Review, he said: \u201cWe are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure\u201d. While he didn\u2019t give any specific details, he added: \u201cSince I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, so we are always doing something. We had also some jam sessions.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it\u2019s happening. It already happened. It\u2019s gonna happen in the future. So new material is coming, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0back in December<\/a>, percussionist and overall band mastermind Shawn \u2018Clown\u2019 Crahan gave us an update on \u2018Look Outside Your Window\u2019, the\u00a0long-awaited lost album from Slipknot<\/a>. The album is expected to arrive sometime this year.<\/p>\n

Slipknot\u2019s Clown teased that the record is\u00a0\u201cnot even close\u201d to the band\u2019s usual style<\/a>, adding: \u201cIt was never a Slipknot album. Not while it was happening, not while I\u2019ve held onto it for 10 years, and certainly not fuckin\u2019 when it comes out.\u201d So far, only one track from the album has been released: \u2018All Hope Is Gone\u2019 bonus track \u2018Til We Die\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Though the record has been slated for many years \u2013 including frontman Corey Taylor, Root and Clown all variously promising its release \u2013 Clown told us\u00a0that the long-awaited LP was out of his hands and with management for the final steps<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really pleased about it and happy to finally be rid of it,\u201d\u00a0he said<\/a>. \u201cWhat\u2019s nice though is that it isn\u2019t a hype thing, it\u2019s just something we did while we were doing other Slipknot albums. It was a very honest action to make music that wasn\u2019t Slipknot, but utilised the skills of guys with no rules.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other news, the band released a 25th anniversary reissue of their self-titled debut album last month<\/a>, which included previously unheard demos, new artwork and unseen images from the band\u2019s archives.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re also reportedly selling their music catalogue for $120million to HarbourView Equity Partners<\/a>, a deal that will cover ownership rights to their publishing and master recording royalties, and the house in Iowa they and their fans destroyed in the video for \u2018Duality\u2019 is going up for auction<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Slipknot are working on new music.
