\n\tJennifer Aniston<\/a> is opening up about why she never adopted children.<\/p>\n

\n\tAniston, 56, has previously spoken publicly about her efforts to have kids, but on a Wondery+ early access episode of the\u00a0Armchair Expert<\/a> podcast, Aniston discusses what it\u2019s like to be content with not having children at this stage of her life.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s so peaceful. But I will say there\u2019s a point where it\u2019s like out of my control,\u201d the Morning Show<\/a> star said. \u201cThere\u2019s literally nothing I can do about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, \u201cWhen people say, \u2018But you can adopt,\u2019 I don\u2019t want to adopt,\u201d she continued. \u201cI want my own DNA in a little person. That\u2019s the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I wanted it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, she admits that there\u2019s been people she\u2019s met and thought they \u201cwould have made some good kids\u201d but the idea would \u201cpass within three seconds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2022, the actress revealed to Allure magazine<\/a> that she was trying to have kids in her 30s and 40s, but it was difficult. \u201cI was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,\u201d she explained. \u201cAll the years and years and years of speculation. \u2026 It was really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added that she looked at other options, too. \u201cI\u00a0was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would\u2019ve given anything if someone had said to me, \u2018Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.\u2019 You just don\u2019t think it,\u201d Aniston said. \u201cSo here I am today. The ship has sailed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Friends alum also spoke about how the tabloids implying her personal timeline for starting a family wasn\u2019t true. \u201cI just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn\u2019t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn\u2019t give him a kid,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was absolute lies. I don\u2019t have anything to hide at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n
