{"id":21441,"date":"2025-07-24T21:19:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T21:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/21441\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T21:19:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T21:19:08","slug":"possible-hepatitis-a-exposure-at-downtown-toronto-restaurant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/21441\/","title":{"rendered":"Possible Hepatitis A exposure at downtown Toronto restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toronto Public Health (TPH) is advising the public of a possible Hepatitis A exposure at a downtown restaurant after an employee tested positive for the virus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The health unit said those who dined at Earls Kitchen + Bar at 601 King St. W., at Portland Street, on the following dates and times may have been exposed:<\/p>\n<p>Friday, July 11 from 4 p.m. to closeSaturday, July 12 from 4:30 p.m. to closeTuesday, July 15 from 4:30 p.m. to close Wednesday, July 16 from 7 p.m. to close<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Diners who may have been exposed to the virus are being urged to get vaccinated as soon as possible. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to TPH, the vaccine is most effective when received within 14 days of exposure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toronto Public Health added customers should watch for signs and symptoms, and wash their hands often and thoroughly with soap and warm water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThere is no ongoing risk to the public,\u201d TPH said in a release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Symptoms of Hepatitis A, which can cause a liver infection, and include fever, tiredness, loss of appetite, nausea\/vomiting, dark urine, stomach pains, and jaundice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cSymptoms can last a few days to several months.
