The competitions span Italy<\/a>, Hungary<\/a> and the USA<\/a>, and are organised by TerraViva<\/a>, Buildner<\/a> and Budapest Capital Asset Management Centre (BFVK).<\/p>\n

R\u00e1kosrendez\u0151 Masterplan \u2013 Urban and Public Space Design Competition<\/a><\/p>\n

Organised by the Budapest Capital Asset Management Centre (BFVK), this competition<\/a> tasks designers to create an urban development masterplan.<\/p>\n

Proposals should outline a liveable urban district within the R\u00e1kosrendez\u0151 brownfield area, an abandoned railway yard in Budapest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Applications must submit their pre-qualification documents by 4 November 2025 and their masterplan proposals by 27 January 2026, via the online portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Re:Form – New Life for Old Spaces<\/a><\/p>\n

Buildner’s second Buildner’s Re:Form \u2013 New Life for Old Spaces competition seeks adaptive reuse<\/a> proposals for spaces under 250 square meters.<\/p>\n

The competition<\/a> prompts participants to select any existing building of their choice \u2013 whether in use or derelict \u2013 and asks them to reimagine the space in sustainable and innovative ways.<\/p>\n

TerraViva’s Rising from Ashes competition<\/a> seeks plans for a place of worship to replace wildfire ruins near the San Gabriel Mountains in Altadena, California.<\/p>\n

Proposals should be suitable for up to 400 people and consider environmental resilience \u2013 ensuring the space is protected against extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n

The Architect’s Stair<\/a><\/p>\n

Contestants should reimagine stairs in creative and conceptual ways for Buildner’s third The Architect’s Stair competition. Proposals can be either abstract or site-specific.<\/p>\n

The Architect’s Stair is open to architects, designers, students and creatives anywhere in the world. The submission deadline is 5 March 2026. Applications can be made via the online portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Candelo Urban Link<\/a><\/p>\n

This TerraViva competition invites designers to transform a historic village square into a multifunctional public space, located in Candelo, Italy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Applications are asked to be cost-effective, holistic and adaptable, considering adding parking, sporting facilities and greenery to the courtyard.<\/p>\n
