\u201cFurious\u201d over a recent expos\u00e9 in The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Oscar winner Kevin Costner has gone deep-sea diving in search for sunken treasure \u2014 and a hit \u2014 a source tells Page Six.<\/p>\n

A source told Page Six this week of the \u201cYellowstone\u201d star, \u201cKevin Costner is on a deep-sea diving binge to discover sunken treasure.\u201d <\/p>\n

The insider added: \u201cHe found gold coins and emeralds recently in the Caribbean. Now he\u2019s shopping a TV series on finding sunken treasure around the world.\u201d <\/p>\n

But, \u201cno one has signed on to finance it,\u201d citing the star\u2019s cold streak around town.<\/p>\n

The THR piece alleged that Costner <\/a>has had a \u201clong series of unfortunate incidents\u201d in a career \u201cmarked by feuds, walkouts, lawsuits, financing fiascos and a growing reputation for being, as one former colleague put it, \u2018impossible.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Our source said on Tuesday of Costner, \u201cHe\u2019s said to be furious over the new Hollywood Reporter story about how he\u2019s lost the plot\u2026 He\u2019s very angry about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s been focusing on his ambitious \u201cHorizon\u201d films since leaving the hit show. The Grosby Group \/ BACKGRID<\/p>\n

Costner has allegedly been struggling to finance a series of over-the-top Western movies in his planned four-part \u201cHorizon\u201d franchise, and even mortgaged an unoccupied $60 million oceanfront property in Santa Barbara County to come up with the cash, according to THR. <\/p>\n

Perhaps the underwater booty could help pay the bills on the films. (Costner\u2019s \u201cHorizon: An American Saga \u2014 Chapter 1\u201d flopped in theaters in 2024, and \u201cHorizon 2\u201d has no current release date. Costner has reportedly been seeking funding on parts three and four.) <\/p>\n

Costner has a history of exploring the sea: He has previously said he and an underwater archaeologist, Alex Mirabal<\/a> \u2014 who the movie star met while exploring a Portuguese shipwreck in Mozambique \u2014 planned to team up and start an exploration business together, according to an online post.<\/p>\n

The star allegedly got into an altercation with Wes Bentley on the set of \u201cYellowstone.\u201d <\/p>\n

Costner has allegedly been pitching a deep sea exploration show. The Grosby Group \/ BACKGRID<\/p>\n

In March the duo visited the Castillo de la Real Fuerza Museum in Havana, Cuba, <\/a>to tour its nautical archives which include artifacts from shipwrecks at the end of the 19th century, reports said.<\/p>\n

The THR story also alleged that Costner, 70, and his \u201cYellowstone\u201d co-star Wes Bentley got into a heated physical altercation that left another star, Kelly Reilly, in tears. <\/p>\n

Costner, who starred as John Dutton in the Western series, was filming a tense scene with Bentley and Reilly, his on-screen children, on a soundstage in Utah at the time of the alleged altercation.<\/p>\n

Sources also told the outlet that certain cast members got fed up with Costner\u2019s \u201cdiva-like\u201d demeanor on the show\u2019s set.<\/p>\n

Reps for Bentley confirmed the incident but simply called it \u201ca work-related argument during an emotional and physically tough scene,\u201d further saying the matter was \u201cdiscussed and resolved.\u201d Reps for Costner, whose character was killed off at the beginning of the fifth and last season, declined to comment.<\/p>\n

Reps for Costner did not get back to Page Six when we reached out for comment.<\/p>\n
