Kevin Federline<\/a> is releasing a memoir next week, and per an excerpt obtained by the New York Times<\/a>, he has made a few claims about his ex-wife, Britney Spears<\/a>.\"Kevin<\/p>\n

For context, Britney and Kevin finalized their divorce in 2007 following three years of marriage. They then became embroiled in a messy battle over custody of their sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston (now 19 and 20), and Kevin was ultimately granted sole custody in 2008, when Britney was placed under a tight conservatorship<\/a>.\"Britney<\/p>\n

The conservatorship remained in effect until November 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Kevin and the boys relocated to Hawaii \u2014 a move that sparked controversy<\/a> online as fans speculated that he was attempting to continue receiving payments from Britney, given that the law<\/a> requires child support to be paid until children turn 23, provided they\u2019re enrolled in full-time education.Since Kevin was granted sole custody of the kids, Britney provided him with a monthly child support payment of $20,000 for each of the boys, while also covering their clothing, school, and insurance expenses. Notably, Kevin faced backlash<\/a> in 2018 when he requested more money from the singer.\"Kevin<\/p>\n

Months before Kevin upped and moved to Hawaii, he was questioned by paparazzi<\/a> on the rumor that he was trying to benefit from the state\u2019s child support laws. He replied, \u201cA lot of people say a lot of stupid things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kevin also remained silent when asked if he\u2019d \u201callow\u201d Britney to see their sons before he moved.<\/p>\n

Fast-forward to today, and Kevin is purportedly speaking out about Britney in his forthcoming memoir, titled You Thought You Knew. Per the NYT<\/a>, he claims that when his sons lived with the pop star, they\u2019d sometimes wake up at night to her \u201cstanding silently in the doorway\u201d of their room with a knife in her hand.\"Kevin<\/p>\n

\u201cThey would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep \u2014 \u2018Oh, you\u2019re awake?\u2019 \u2014 with a knife in her hand,\u201d he claims. \u201cThen she\u2019d turn around and pad off without explanation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kevin later reportedly writes, \u201cThe truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it\u2019s racing toward something irreversible\u2026It\u2019s become impossible to pretend everything\u2019s OK. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we\u2019re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don\u2019t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.\u201d\"Britney<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been their buffer for years, but now it\u2019s bigger than me. It\u2019s time to sound the alarm,\u201d he adds, also telling the NYT<\/a> that he and Britney \u201chaven\u2019t spoken in years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Britney\u2019s rep has since addressed Kevin\u2019s claims. In a statement shared with E! News<\/a>, they said, \u201cWith news from Kevin\u2019s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin\u2026All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.\u201d\"Britney<\/p>\n

In Britney\u2019s 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me<\/a>, she claimed that Kevin kept her from seeing her sons for weeks and \u201ctried to convince everyone\u201d that she was \u201ccompletely out of control\u201d amid their custody battle.<\/p>\n
