A team official confirmed the news to NBC Sports.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes a few days after William Byron, unaware that Dillon was going to pit, ran into the back of Dillon\u2019s car while running second with 32 laps left in the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n<p>Byron finished 36th at Las Vegas. Byron, the regular season champion, enters Sunday\u2019s race at Talladega Superspeedway 15 points outside the final transfer spot to Championship 4.<\/p>\n<p>    <a class=\"Link\" aria-label=\"Good news, bad news for NASCAR Cup drivers ahead of Talladega playoff race\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nascar\/news\/good-news-bad-news-for-nascar-cup-drivers-ahead-of-talladega-playoff-race\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"Image\" alt=\"AUTO: APR 06 NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1760572390_344_\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One never knows what surprise Talladega Superspeedway will unleash next. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never saw him (Dillon) wave,\u201d Byron said after exiting the infield care center last weekend at Las Vegas. \u201cI didn\u2019t see any indication that he was pitting. It was probably 12 to 15 laps after we had pitted, so I thought the cycle was fully over. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody said anything to my spotter, from what I know. I had zero idea. He just started slowing and I had no idea what was going on. I\u2019m just devastated. I had no indication. Obviously, I wouldn\u2019t have just driven full-speed into the back of him like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mike Forde, NASCAR managing director of communications, said on this week\u2019s \u201cNASCAR Hauler Talk\u201d podcast that Brad Moran, managing series director, planned to talk to the crew chief of both cars to better understand what happened. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do need to get some answers,\u201d Forde said on the podcast. <\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Also to be clear, it was already determined that I would not be spotting for Ty next year, but that I would still be with Kaulig in some fashion. TJ Bell is listed as Allmendinger\u2019s spotter.<\/p>\n<p>A team official confirmed those moves to NBC Sports.<\/p>\n<p>White was a spotter last season for the No. 16 car at Kaulig Racing before pairing with Dillon this season. The No. 16 car had multiple drivers last season, including Allmendinger, Shane van Gisbergen, Derek Kraus, Josh Williams and Dillon.<\/p>\n<p>The Cup Series races Sunday at Talladega.
