Britney Spears hit back at ex-husband Kevin Federline after excerpts from his memoir, which covers their brief marriage, accused her <\/a>of multiple alleged wrongdoings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,\u201d the \u201cToxic\u201d hitmaker wrote via X <\/a>on Wednesday evening of the excerpts, and Federline\u2019s recent interviews. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,\u201d she continued. \u201cRelationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears went on to allege that the sons she shares with Federline, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, \u201chave always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own [sic] father for me\u201d and claimed that they \u201cneed to take responsibility for themselves\u201d in adulthood.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBaby One More Time\u201d singer also claimed that \u201cone son\u201d had only seen her for \u201c45 min <\/a>in the past year\u201d and the other only had \u201c4 visits in the past 5 years\u201d with her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have pride too,\u201d the songstress, 43, wrote. \u201cFrom now on I will let them know when I am available. Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.\u201d <\/p>\n

The \u201cI\u2019m a Slave 4 You\u201d singer concluded her social media statement with love for her boys. \u201cI will always love them and if you really know me, you won\u2019t pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n

She wrote that sons Jayden and Sean Preston have \u201cwitnessed the lack of respect shown by own [sic] father for me.\u201d Instagram<\/p>\n

The former couple was married from 2004 to 2007. WireImage<\/p>\n

\u201cI am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life the past 5 years. I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same.\u201d <\/p>\n

A rep for Federline did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s request for comment on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The former backup dancer\u2019s book, \u201cYou Thought You Knew,\u201d is set to hit shelves on Oct. 21 \u2014 but Federline, 47 \u2014 to whom Spears was married from 2004 to 2007<\/a> \u2014 has been leaking excerpts ahead of its release. <\/p>\n

In one excerpt obtained by the New York Times on Tuesday, Federline alleged that their sons \u201cWould awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway<\/a>, watching them sleep \u2014 \u2018Oh, you\u2019re awake?\u2019 \u2014 with a knife in her hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview released Tuesday, Federline claimed he was worried for the Grammy winner <\/a>and their kids, citing allegedly \u201cerratic behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m absolutely \u2014 as a father \u2014 terrified that one day I might wake up and my sons are going to have to deal with the unimaginable,\u201d he told Entertainment Tonight of his former wife in an interview released Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The father of six also claimed to Entertainment Tonight that he walked in on Spears calling ex Justin Timberlake<\/a> on the night before their 2004 wedding. <\/p>\n

A rep for Spears blasted the sensational claims<\/a> in a statement to Page Six on Wednesday. \u201cWith news from Kevin\u2019s book breaking, once again, he and others are profiting off her,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSadly, it comes after child support has ended<\/a> with Kevin,\u201d they added. The pop princess was required to pay Federline $20,000 per month until her youngest son, Jayden, turned 18. At one point, she was paying him 40,000 per month, as both boys lived with him in Hawaii.<\/p>\n

Federline obtained custody of the former couple\u2019s children following Spears\u2019 series of public meltdowns in the mid 2000s. She was subsequently placed on a restrictive legal conservatorship<\/a>, which ended after 13 years <\/a>in 2021. <\/p>\n

Spears isn\u2019t the only one who has thoughts on Federline\u2019s book \u2014 in August, her ex-husband Sam Asghari dissed the former pro dancer <\/a>in comments to TMZ.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

When asked what he thought of Federline\u2019s upcoming book, which \u201cdetails [Federline\u2019s] marriage with Britney,\u201d Asghari replied, \u201cWell, he was a professional father.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that Federline\u2019s memoir \u201cwould be the first book that\u2019ll tell you how to be a professional father.\u201d <\/p>\n
