{"id":217179,"date":"2025-10-16T11:38:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T11:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/217179\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T11:38:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T11:38:10","slug":"police-arrested-one-of-canadas-most-wanted-fugitives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/217179\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrested one of Canada\u2019s most wanted fugitives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Metro Vancouver Transit Police (MVTP) says it arrested Pierry Philog\u00e8ne, who was named one of Canada\u2019s 25 Most Wanted earlier this month by the national Be on the Lookout Program (Bolo).<\/p>\n<p>He has been at large since late 2021, when a search warrant was issued by the Montreal Police Service (MPS) in connection with an alleged homicide in Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>The MVTP says it arrested Philog\u00e8ne on Tuesday night after its Crime Suppression Team members were able to locate him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing a short foot chase, he was arrested with the assistance from Vancouver Police. He remains in custody,\u201d said the MVTP in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, transit police say they found Philog\u00e8ne was carrying a fake ID when they searched him after his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The BC Prosecution Service approved charges for obstruction of a peace officer and possession of identity documents without lawful excuse against the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>The Montreal Police Service accuses Philog\u00e8ne of premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard on December 22, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/CVCN-IE-TRANSIT-SAFETY-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Constable amanda steed talks in front of the Metro Vancouver Transit Police station.\" class=\"wp-image-3819494\"  \/>Const.
