The surging BC Lions have won four straight and are coming off a bye, now set to host the 7-9 Edmonton Elks with playoff implications on the line.<\/p>\n
My Elks vs. Lions predictions expect Nathan Rourke & Co. to pick up right where they left off before the break, as BC looks poised to keep rolling at home.<\/p>\n
Let’s get into my CFL picks<\/a> for Friday, October 17, with kickoff set for 10:30 p.m. ET on TSN.\u00a0<\/p>\n Elks vs Lions prediction<\/p>\n My Elks vs Lions pick: Lions -5.5 (-120 at BET99<\/a>)<\/p>\n With just two weeks left in the CFL regular season, the BC Lions<\/a> are the hottest team in the league \u2014 a far cry from early September, when they sat at 5-7 and were staring down the possibility of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2021.<\/p>\n However, since Week 15, the Lions\u2019 offense has caught fire, riding a four-game winning streak with Nathan Rourke & Co. averaging 38.8 points per contest \u2014 three of those victories coming by double digits.<\/p>\n Suddenly, a bid to host the West Semi-Final is very much in play, as BC will look to win out and secure the second seed in the West Division ahead of both Calgary and Winnipeg.\u00a0<\/p>\n Fresh off a bye, the Leos are essentially at full strength, with only defensive lineman Christian Covington appearing on the injury report, and he\u2019s been sidelined since late August.<\/p>\n BC will feast on an Edmonton Elks<\/a> squad that they dominated in both Week 1 and Week 6, outscoring them a combined 63-28 in those matchups.<\/p>\n Although veteran quarterback Cody Fajardo has done a better job of righting the ship offensively following the benching of Tre Ford, the Elks defense remains a leaky one, surrendering a league-worst 383.2 yards of net offence per game.<\/p>\n The Lions boast one of the deepest offences in the CFL, whether it\u2019s Nathan Rourke under center, rushing leader James Butler in the backfield, or All-Stars Keion Hatcher and Justin McInnis stretching the field.<\/p>\n BC has prevailed in five consecutive home games, and I have this line priced at -7.5 for Friday night’s contest.
