{"id":217909,"date":"2025-10-16T18:21:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T18:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/217909\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T18:21:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T18:21:12","slug":"paul-vs-davis-ex-ufc-fighters-anderson-silva-and-chris-weidman-to-compete-in-boxing-mactch-on-paul-vs-davis-undercard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/217909\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul vs Davis: Ex-UFC fighters Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman to compete in boxing mactch on Paul vs Davis undercard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva will fight in a six-round heavyweight bout on the undercard of Jake Paul&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/c5yq07ek9x9o\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">exhibition bout<\/a> against Gervonta Davis on 14 November in Miami, Most Valuable Promotions has announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Weidman, 41 and Silva, 50, fought in the UFC, with Weidman winning both their back-to-back encounters in 2013.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">American fighter Weidman ended Silva&#8217;s seven-year reign as UFC middleweight champion with his first win and both men have since retired from MMA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Silva has competed in five boxing matches, losing two of those bouts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Brazilian, widely considered one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, last boxed in 2022 when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/boxing\/63439944\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he was beaten by Paul.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Weidman retired from the UFC in January, finishing his MMA career with 16 wins and eight losses, and will be competing in his first boxing fight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Paul&#8217;s exhibition bout with lightweight world champion Davis will be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">There are three world titles on the undercard, including Alycia Baumgardner&#8217;s defence of her featherweght titles against Leila Beaudoin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The event will be streamed by Netflix and is being promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, Paul&#8217;s own company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva will fight in a six-round heavyweight bout on the undercard of Jake Paul&#8217;s&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":217910,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[444],"tags":[49,48,641,638,82],"class_list":{"0":"post-217909","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mma","8":"tag-ca","9":"tag-canada","10":"tag-fighting","11":"tag-mma","12":"tag-sports"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/217909","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=217909"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/217909\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/217910"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=217909"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=217909"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=217909"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
