When Smiles comes to Wolfville, N.S., next week \u2014 barring an extremely unlikely appearance by the would-be couple\u00a0\u2014 his cooking and the culinary talents of other Montreal chefs will be the main focus at the 15th annual Devour food and film festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s nice to see Montreal highlighted,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re not too far and I feel like there\u2019s a lot of connection with the Maritimes \u2026 we buy a lot of seafood from Nova Scotia.”<\/p>\n
Smiles first came to the festival in 2017 and is looking forward to heading back for Round 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWolfville is an amazing place. It\u2019s a beautiful community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He\u2019ll be cooking at the festival\u2019s Montreal Night Market on Thursday, leading a culinary workshop and joining four other top chefs from his city on Friday at the festival\u2019s big \u201cdegustation\u201d dinner. A tasting menu with wine pairings will be prepared alongside a screening of five food-related short films.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re all going to be cooking together,\u201d he said. \u201cThat gets pretty wild.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The festival runs from Oct. 20-26.<\/p>\n
