The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday inside Upper Canada Mall, at Yonge Street and Davis Drive.<\/p>\n
Investigators say five masked suspects entered the store armed with hammers and smashed display cases, filling duffel bags with jewelry worth nearly $100,000, before fleeing in a white Mercedes SUV.<\/p>\n
While fleeing, the suspects were confronted by mall security and an aerosol irritant was discharged toward the guards, said police.<\/p>\n
The footage starts at the mall and continues with a police pursuit on southbound Highway 404 during which several officers attempt to corral and stop a white SUV.<\/p>\n
Police are seen a short time later boxing in that vehicle just off the highway on Steeles Avenue.<\/p>\n
Moments later, officers appear to be chasing after a number of suspects who fled on foot. <\/p>\n
They are also seen handcuffing some of them at that intersection. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Police say four of the five suspects were arrested. <\/p>\n
Three teenage boys, two from Brampton (age 15 and 16) and a 16-year-old from Toronto, as well as 18-year-old Toronto resident Kareem Haniff have each been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, robbery with an offensive weapon, and disguise with intent.<\/p>\n
Police say at the time of this offence, Haniff was bound by an undertaking, while one of the 16-year-old youths was on a release order for unrelated offences. <\/p>\n

A fifth suspect remains outstanding. <\/p>\n
He is described as a male, 16 to 20-years-old with a thin build, and last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and a black face mask.<\/p>\n
Further investigation revealed the vehicle that was allegedly used in the robbery had been stolen earlier in the morning during a home invasion in Vaughan.
