Strathmore Golf Centre <\/a>in Scotland has been put up for sale by its current owners for a guide price of \u00a31.65 million. <\/p>\n

Privately owned and operated by David Norman, together with business partners Peter and Simon Howell, for the past 20 years, and set over 79 hectares in picturesque Perthshire countryside, the centre currently offers two golf courses \u2013 the 18-hole, par-72 Rannaleroch Course, and the par-3, 9-hole Leitfie Links \u2013 a 10-bay floodlit driving range, additional practice facilities, and a clubhouse with bar and restaurant.<\/p>\n

The owners are currently working to reinstate previously approved plans to build hotel, holiday accommodation and leisure facilities, whilst seeking to find suitable new owners to take the facility to its next stage of development.<\/p>\n

Its potential sale, to the right buyer, is an extremely strong business proposition, with Strathmore having real capacity and potential to become a staycation resort. This would certainly see existing holiday park chains, or independents looking for more sites, targeted as possible buyers.<\/p>\n

Under the previously achieved outline planning permission came the development of a new or extended clubhouse, alongside a 30-bed sporting lodge complete with gym, hot tub and jacuzzi, and 34 luxury chalet style self-catering lodges, spread over three locations across the site. Also included in the planning proposal, was a separate Manager\u2019s House.<\/p>\n

Regarding the future of Strathmore Golf Centre, David Norman said: \u201cIt\u2019s known that we are ultimately looking to sell the centre in preparation to retire. We have staged our most prestigious PGA event ever, over the summer, which attracted a lot of attention. A luxury staycation resort could easily be created here, with chalet style lodges easy to site.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we have had outline planning granted for this before, which has now lapsed, it would not be at all difficult for a new owner to apply and achieve it again,\u201d David continued. \u201cThe proposals were detailed and well thought out. It\u2019s the type pf development that would be very much welcomed, creating much needed visitor accommodation, generating jobs and revenue throughout the area, whilst continuing to put Alyth on the map as yet another beautiful Perthshire destination.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAlyth is equidistant from the three major cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, being just over an hour from each of them, along with being within easy reach of Perth, Dundee, and the entire Central Belt. Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie are each only 45 minutes away from Strathmore Golf Course, so overall the staycation would be an ideal base for many visitors and tourists \u2013 not just golfers.\u201d<\/p>\n
