Frankie Muniz is back in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series<\/a>, ready to wrap up what\u2019s been a wild and unpredictable rookie season with Reaume Brothers Racing. The actor-turned-racer, known for Malcolm in the Middl<\/a>e, missed four races after a ladder mishap left him with a fractured wrist. Now cleared to race again, he\u2019s determined to finish the year strong, and maybe laugh about the whole thing while he\u2019s at it.<\/p>\n A Painful Hiatus and Determined Return<\/p>\n Frankie Muniz\u2019s season took a detour in August 2025 when a simple household task went wrong. While changing out batteries at home, he lost his balance and fell from a ladder, injuring his wrist. The incident forced him to take a break from racing, something he admits was harder than expected.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was really weird to watch on TV because I\u2019ve never really watched a truck race live since I\u2019ve been in the Truck Series,\u201d Muniz told NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass<\/a>. \u201cIt was kind of painful to have to watch, but at the same time, I had to heal up. I\u2019m excited to be back for the last three and just keep fighting for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n For a guy used to life in the fast lane, sitting out wasn\u2019t easy. But the break gave Muniz time to heal, reset, and prepare mentally for his comeback at Talladega Superspeedway, one of the most thrilling tracks on the circuit.<\/p>\n Frankie Muniz Owns Up to the Mishap<\/p>\n Frankie Muniz didn\u2019t sugarcoat the situation; in fact, he laughed it off. \u201cYeah, fell off a ladder,\u201d he said with a grin.<\/p>\n \u201cI have to heed the warning where it says, \u2018Do not stand on the top step,\u2019 especially when it\u2019s in the grass. You live and learn. It\u2019s all my fault. I can\u2019t blame anybody else except my laziness for not getting a taller ladder out of my garage.\u201d<\/p>\n The wrist fracture didn\u2019t require surgery, but it did sideline him for six to eight weeks, precious time lost in a rookie season already full of ups and downs. Still, Muniz stayed positive, finding a bit of humor in the situation.<\/p>\n He explained<\/a>, \u201cI was trying to change the Ring batteries. We were redoing our roof, so the workers had used them all day. I was about to go out of town and figured I\u2019d do it quickly, that\u2019s when I lost my balance.\u201d<\/p>\n Optimism Fuels NASCAR Comeback<\/p>\n Even with the setback, Muniz\u2019s focus remains sharp. \u201cIt\u2019s been an adventurous year for sure,\u201d he told Pockrass. \u201cWe\u2019ve had our fair share of bad luck, but I\u2019m hoping to get all that out of the way this year.
