Sarah Paulson got emotional over her close friend Diane Keaton\u2019s death<\/a> at Thursday\u2019s \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d premiere<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actress teared up on the red carpet as she discussed the passing of her \u201cvery dear friend\u201d for the first time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not something I\u2019m able to talk about yet,\u201d the \u201cAmerican Horror Story\u201d alum, 50, admitted to Access Hollywood<\/a> at the Los Angeles event. \u201cBut all I can say \u2026 which is important to me to communicate [is that] what you thought she was as a performer, she was even more spectacular as a human being.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress spoke about her \u201cvery dear friend\u201d at Thursday\u2019s \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d premiere. FilmMagic<\/p>\n

She called herself \u201cthe luckiest person in the world to have had [Keaton] in [her] life the way that [she] did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paulson and the journalist embraced at the end of the interview.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Emmy winner opened up to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> about losing Keaton on Saturday at age 79.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was incredibly close to her, and this is a profoundly sad time for me,\u201d Paulson explained. \u201cI can\u2019t talk about it in any way that\u2019s articulate.\u201d<\/p>\n

She doubled down on her previous sentiment, gushing, \u201cFor all you knew and loved about her as a performer, she was even more as a friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keaton\u2019s passing made headlines over the weekend, with her family later revealing that the \u201cAnnie Hill\u201d star\u2019s cause of death was pneumonia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paulson did not immediately issue a statement regarding her \u201cThe Other Sister\u201d co-star\u2019s passing. Donato Sardella<\/p>\n

Reports have surfaced \u2014 and friends have confirmed<\/a> \u2014 that Keaton\u2019s health \u201cdeclined very suddenly\u201d as she suffered from a mystery illness<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paulson did not immediately issue a statement mourning Keaton but was photographed visiting the \u201cFather of the Bride\u201d star\u2019s Los Angeles home on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The \u201cAmerican Crime Story\u201d alum appeared visibly emotional<\/a> as she gathered with others at the residence.<\/p>\n

Last month, Paulson gushed about her bond with Keaton at Chanel\u2019s Through Her Lens luncheon, explaining that they met filming \u201cThe Other Sister\u201d in 1999.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe really took me under her wing and we\u2019ve been really good friends ever since,\u201d the Tony winner recalled during the September sitdown. \u201cI feel very lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n
