Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young weighed in on the ongoing collective bargaining agreement negotiations between the WNBA and its players. <\/p>\n
“It really is important,” Young told TMZ Sports<\/a> (1:55 mark). “I think it’s just important that we get what we deserve, I think that’s the biggest thing. We’re playing at the highest level with the best in the world.”<\/p>\n When asked what she thinks WNBA players deserve in the new CBA, Young brought up revenue sharing and pay. <\/p>\n “Obviously, pay is a big one,” Young said (2:18 mark). “But I think the biggest thing, like, is the revenue share.”<\/p>\n The current deadline for a new CBA is Oct. 31, with both sides still working towards an agreement after Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier called out<\/a> WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert. <\/p>\n Front Office Sports’\u00a0Annie Costabile<\/a> reported Oct. 10 that the WNBA’s latest offer included a model in which revenue-sharing would only be triggered if league revenue exceeds certain targets, similar to the current CBA. <\/p>\n WNBA players presently earn about 9.4 percent of\u00a0the WNBA’s\u00a0revenue collectively,\u00a0while\u00a0NBA players split roughly 50 percent\u00a0of the NBA’s revenue (via MarketWatch<\/a>).<\/p>\n
