{"id":221059,"date":"2025-10-18T01:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T01:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/221059\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T01:05:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T01:05:09","slug":"man-admits-burgling-damien-hirsts-art-studio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/221059\/","title":{"rendered":"Man admits burgling Damien Hirst&#8217;s art studio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">A man has pleaded guilty to the burglary of a studio belonging to artist Damien Hirst.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">Liam Middleton-Gomm, 36, broke into Thames Wharf Studios in west London on 30 June and stole about \u00a35,000 worth of goods \u2013 some of which were later found at his father Leslie Gomm&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">The 62-year-old previously admitted handling stolen goods for his son.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">Hirst&#8217;s best-known artwork includes a pickled shark, a rotting cow&#8217;s head and diamond-encrusted skull.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">Only about \u00a3500 worth of goods were recovered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">The defendants, who appeared in the dock together at Kingston Crown Court, will be sentenced at a hearing at the same court on 30 October.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 bJoRPJ\">Middleton-Gomm also pleaded guilty on Friday to the burglary of homes on 9 July and 17 July, as well as the attempted burglary of another property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A man has pleaded guilty to the burglary of a studio belonging to artist Damien Hirst.
