MADISON, Wis. \u00ad\u2014 Michigan State men’s soccer surrendered a pair of second-half goals, falling to Wisconsin, 2-0, Friday night at McClimon Soccer Stadium. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak against Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
With the loss, Michigan State falls to 5-6-1 this season and 2-4-1 in Big Ten action. Wisconsin improves to 5-6-0 overall record and stands 2-4-0 in league play. The Spartans have been shutout in their last two contests.<\/p>\n
MSU welcomed back sophomore midfielder Brandon Munson<\/a> to the starting lineup. Munson missed six games after suffering a lower leg injury at Washington on Sept. 12.<\/p>\n The Spartans had the bulk of possession early on. Wisconsin went on to take the final five shots of the first half, forcing redshirt-senior goalkeeper Zac Kelly<\/a> to make three saves in the waning moments of the first half.<\/p>\n After 45 minutes, the game was tied 0-0.<\/p>\n In the second half, the Badgers came out as the aggressors. In the 69th minute, Wisconsin finally broke through with the would be game-winning goal. Matthew Zachemski’s fourth goal of the season off of passes from Cristobal Porter and Thomas Raimbault.In the76th minute, the Badgers added a second goal with Raimbault’s first goal of the season.<\/p>\n
