Hi Subscribers,

Today’s newsletter has an interview with Uno-X Mobility’s general manager, Thor Hushovd. We discuss the promotion position the team is on the brink of, the squad’s plans for next season, and how they might open the doors to riders from outside Norway and Denmark in the future.

We also have a mini transfer roundup, while I’ve begun working on an in-depth feature that will explore the possible outcomes of Derek Gee and the IPT case at the UCI Arbitral Board. We’ll examine the composition of the board, the phases of the hearing process, and the implications of the €30 million damages claim. That story is out soon.

Away from the current coverage, I’ve already started planning a few training camp visits in December and January. And I’ll be at Rouleur Live next month too!

Have a great weekend.

At the start of the season, Uno-X Mobility weren’t seen as a likely contender in the battle for WorldTour promotion. They were comfortably in the second tier of cycling, while most expected Arkéa – B&B Hotels, Cofidis, XDS Astana, and Picnic PostNL to compete for places in the 2026-2028 cycle of WorldTour teams, and Israel-Premier Tech and Lotto to soak up the two promotion spots.

Fast forward ten and a half months, and with the curtain about to fall on the campaign, the situation has transformed into a completely new scenario: XDS Astana and Picnic PostNL are both safe, Arkéa – B&B Hotels will fold, two other teams are maybe merging, and Cofidis have fallen like a stone and look set for relegation at this piont in time. The biggest winners from these circumstances have been Uno-X Mobility, with the Scandinavian team on the brink of qualifying for the top tier of teams.
