The pitching matchup is set for Game 6 of the American League Championship Series.<\/p>\n

With a chance to earn their first World Series berth in franchise history, the Seattle Mariners will start right-hander Logan Gilbert on the mound Sunday night in Toronto\u2019s Rogers Centre, manager Dan Wilson announced Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays will counter with rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage, who was announced as the Game 6 starter by Toronto manager John Schneider on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Mariners grabbed a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series with a dramatic Game 5 victory<\/a> in Seattle on Friday night. The series now shifts back to Canada for its conclusion.<\/p>\n

The Game 6 pitching matchup will be a rematch of last Monday\u2019s Game 2, which Seattle won 10-3<\/a> in Toronto.<\/p>\n

Gilbert allowed three runs \u2013 two earned \u2013 and five hits over three innings in his Game 2 start. He was pitching on just two days rest after throwing two-plus scoreless frames out of the bullpen in the Mariners\u2019 15-inning marathon victory over the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 of the AL Division Series, which was the first relief appearance of his MLB career.<\/p>\n

Yesavage was charged with five runs and four hits in four-plus innings in Game 2, including a three-run homer by Julio Rodr\u00edguez in the first inning.<\/p>\n

Both pitchers will be throwing Sunday on an extra day of rest. And neither logged a heavy workload in Game 2, with Gilbert throwing just 58 pitches and Yesavage throwing 70.<\/p>\n

Game 6 of the ALCS is set for 5:03 p.m. Sunday at Toronto\u2019s Rogers Centre. Radio coverage will be on Seattle Sports<\/a>, with the TV broadcast airing on FS1<\/a>.<\/p>\n
