Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez\u2019s Domingo returned to crash Matt\u2019s (Andrew Dismukes) 30th birthday celebration with the help of Sabrina Carpenter in tonight\u2019s \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d<\/a> cold open.<\/p>\n

Things started off awkward enough with Matt\u2019s ever-unfaithful wife, Kelsey (Chloe Fineman), telling her husband she\u2019d enlisted some special guests to show up at their Olive Garden dinner. Those guests, much to Matt\u2019s disappointment, turned out to be Kelsey\u2019s best friends, the Kelsquad (Carpenter, Sarah Sherman, Ashley Padilla and Veronika Slowikowska).<\/p>\n

The girls teamed up for a few loosely choreographed song-and-dance numbers, the first of which was set to a remixed version of Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia.\u201d<\/a> It was only a matter of time, though, before Hern\u00e1ndez\u2019s Domingo arrived to, once again, profess his undying love for Kelsey. He did just that, and this time with the help of some pyrotechnics.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Domingo\u2019s brother (Pedro Pascal) was nowhere to be seen. You can watch the \u201cSNL\u201d cold open yourself in the video below.<\/p>\n

Kelsey\u2019s friends recounted how she hit them up to go on a trip to find the best gift for Dismukes\u2019 Matthew. \u201cThey say Disney is the most magical place on Earth, but we\u2019re banned from there, so we went to Nashville,\u201d the girls announced, before recounting the events of their trip to the beat of \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia.\u201d Turns out, Kelsey used the trip to reunite with Hern\u00e1ndez\u2019s Domingo.<\/p>\n

\u201cDomingo was in Nashville?\u201d Dismukes\u2019 frustrated husband asked, only for Fineman\u2019s Kelsey to remind him that he could have gone on the trip with her. \u201cNo, I couldn\u2019t have, because I was in Albany attending a self worth seminar,\u201d Matt replied. After interrupting the escalating tension with a rendition of Lady Gaga\u2019s \u201cAbracadabra,\u201d the Kelsquad were then joined for their third song, a remix of Alex Warren\u2019s \u201cOrdinary,\u201d by Domingo himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI may be the love of your life, but I respect that you are a wife,\u201d Domingo serenaded. By the time everything was said and done, Fineman\u2019s Kelsey was up there dancing with him, even as she promised Dismukes\u2019 Matt that it \u201cwon\u2019t happen again.\u201d (Spoiler alert: It definitely will.)<\/p>\n

Domingo\u2019s return this week marks his fourth \u201cSNL\u201d appearance since the character made his debut in the Ariana Grande-starring \u201cBridesmaid Speech\u201d sketch<\/a> last October. The last time \u201cSNL\u201d featured Domingo was during its 50th anniversary special in February. That sketch, titled \u201cVow Renewal,\u201d not only introduced Pedro Pascal as Domingo\u2019s brother, Ronaldo, but also included Carpenter\u2019s debut as Sophie, a close friend of Fineman\u2019s Kelsey.<\/p>\n

Last week\u2019s \u201cSNL\u201d cold open<\/a> saw host Amy Poehler parody U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi with the help of fellow, returning \u201cSNL\u201d cast member Tina Fey, who made a surprise cameo as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.<\/p>\n
