Leandro Trossard’s second-half strike was enough for Arsenal to see off Fulham<\/a> on Saturday evening. The Gunners stretched their advantage at the top of the table to three points after Trossard scored from a corner just before the hour mark<\/a> at Craven Cottage.<\/p>\n However, moments before the forward’s breakthrough, Bukayo Saka<\/a> appeared to have won his team a spot-kick when he was brought down on the edge of the box by substitute Kevin. Without hesitating, referee Anthony Taylor awarded the penalty<\/a>, but he was quickly called to the pitchside monitor to assess the incident.<\/p>\n Upon review, he reversed his original call<\/a>. In my opinion, it should have been a penalty.”<\/p>\n Jamie Redknapp agreed that the decision didn’t reach the bar for a VAR intervention. He said: “If we take it the other way, and the referee doesn’t give it, VAR would have looked at it, but I don’t think they would have given it.<\/p>\n “But like Steve says, is it enough to intervene, is it a clear and obvious error? No, I don’t think so. And that’s where the disappointment will be for Bukayo.”<\/p>\n Speaking to reporters after the game, Mikel Arteta<\/a> offered his account of events.
