UFC Vancouver proved to be a splendid night of upsets from top to bottom. In the main event, middleweight luminary Brendan Allen defied the massive odds put upon him and broke former two-division champion Reinier de Ridder.

Utilizing a grappling heavy approach, \u201cAll In\u201d smothered the Dutchman with his Jiu-Jitsu, peppering him with ground-and-pound en route to de Ridder\u2019s corner having to throw in the towel before the fifth round started. <\/p>\n

Before that, hometown hero Mike Malott pulled off a unanimous decision triumph over the much more experienced Kevin Holland. Despite an accidental low blow that appeared to debilitate the American, Malott still managed to weather the storm in round one to take the close bout on the scorecards.<\/p>\n

Now, here some interesting UFC Vancouver post-event tidbits:<\/p>\n

UFC Vancouver: Kyle Nelson def. Matt Frevola<\/p>\n

Kyle Nelson<\/p>\n

His appearance at UFC Vancouver marked his first lightweight contest since 2022. Nelson\u2019s\u00a0victory over Frevola<\/a> also was the first time he has won a match at 155-lb since almost seven years during his days outside the UFC.<\/p>\n

He now reenters the win column following UFC Vancouver after losing by first-round knockout to Steve Garcia at featherweight last year\u00a0<\/p>\n

Matt Frevola\u00a0<\/p>\n

Frevola\u2019s bout with Nelson is his third consecutive defeat, losing previously to Benoit Saint-Denis<\/a> and Fares Ziam. It\u2019s also the third year in a row that the New Yorker has fought just once.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Exiting UFC Vancouver, his UFC record now stands at 5-6-1.<\/p>\n

UFC Vancouver: Charles Jourdain def. Davey Grant<\/p>\n

Charles Jourdain<\/p>\n

Jourdain\u2019s UFC Vancouver win over Grant<\/a> is his second victory in a row since dropping down to bantamweight in November of 2024. In addition, it\u2019s his third successive triumph by stoppage.<\/p>\n

His earning of a Performance of the Night post-fight award for his knockout over Grant stands as the third $50,000 bonus of his UFC tenure.<\/p>\n

Davey Grant<\/p>\n

Grant\u2019s loss to Jourdain<\/a> snapped a previous two-fight winning streak. It\u2019s the first time he has lost by finish since 2018 at UFC Fight Night 134.<\/p>\n

His knockdown against Jourdain was the first since his battle with Jonathan Martinez four years ago.<\/p>\n

UFC Vancouver: Manon Fiorot def. Jasmine Jasudavicius<\/p>\n

Manon Fiorot\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fiorot\u2019s UFC Vancouver win over Jasmine Jasudavicius<\/a> is her first victory since losing to current Women\u2019s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko<\/a> at UFC 315 back in May. It was also the first stoppage win of her professional career since 2021<\/p>\n

She remains unbeaten against every other fighter in the promotion other than the champion of her division.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jasmine Jasudavicius<\/p>\n

Jasudavicius\u2019 loss to Fiorot<\/a> served as her first defeat in over two years after having garnered a five-fight win streak. It was also the first knockout setback of her entire combat sports career.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her UFC record now stands at 8-3.<\/p>\n

UFC Vancouver: Aiemann Zahabi def. Marlon Vera<\/p>\n

\u00a0Aiemann Zahabi<\/p>\n

His win over Vera<\/a> is his seventh in a row dating back to 2019. Six of his 14 career victories have now come by way of decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He has now outstruck or gone even in strikes with his last six opponents.<\/p>\n

Marlon Vera<\/p>\n

Vera\u2019s defeat to Zahabi<\/a> was his third straight loss. All his losses as a competitor have come by way of the judges scorecards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Marlon Vera\u2019s UFC record now stands at 15-10. His fight with Zahabi stood as his 34th contest as a professional.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UFC Vancouver: Mike Malott def. Kevin Holland<\/p>\n

Mike Malott\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mike Malott\u2019s addition to the UFC Vancouver card was his fifth consecutive appearance at a Canadian event hosted by the company. His win over Holland<\/a> also is his third victory in a row after suffering his first defeat in the promotion to Neil Magny at UFC 297.<\/p>\n

He is now 5-1 in his last six tilts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kevin Holland<\/p>\n

Holland\u2019s UFC Vancouver clash with Malott<\/a> was his fifth UFC match of 2025. It\u2019s also his second straight defeat after also falling to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC 318.<\/p>\n

He is now 2-4 in his last six contests.\u00a0His UFC record now stands at 15-12 with one no-contest since joining the organization in 2018.<\/p>\n

UFC Vancouver: Brendan Allen def. Reinier de Ridder<\/p>\n

Brendan Allen<\/p>\n

Allen\u2019s UFC Vancouver win over Reinier de Ridder<\/a> served as his second victory in a row after triumphing in a grudge match with divisional nemesis Marvin Vettori in July.\u00a0His retirement over the Dutchman also was his sixth professional win by KO\/TKO.<\/p>\n

He is now 5-2 in his last six fights. Additionally, he has now headlined three UFC events, previously facing off with Andr\u00e9 Muniz and Paul Craig in 2023 in two Fight Night main events.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reinier de Ridder<\/p>\n

His loss to Allen<\/a> brought to an end a previous five-bout winning streak dating back to March of 2024. It also is the first loss of his UFC career after previously recording four straight wins in the Octagon since making his company debut at UFC Fight Night 247.<\/p>\n

All of his defeats as a professional have come via KO\/TKO.
