The Montreal Alouettes have signed Danny Maciocia, the team\u2019s senior vice president of football operations and general manager, and head coach Jason Maas to two-year contract extensions. They are now signed through 2029 and 2028, respectively.<\/p>\n

Maciocia was hired by the Alouettes in 2020 following a nine-year run as the head coach at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. The team has since gone 49-35-1 under his watch, winning a Grey Cup in 2023. The Alouettes have made the playoffs during each year of Maciocia\u2019s tenure, including this season with a first or second-place finish in the East Division.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thankful for the continued stability that Mr. Pierre Karl P\u00e9ladeau (the team\u2019s owner) has brought to this organization. I\u2019m also grateful that he continues to place his trust in Jason and me,\u201d said Maciocia in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to continuing to build a winning culture within the Alouettes organization alongside Coach Maas. Jason and I have worked together for many years, and I\u2019m thrilled that we\u2019ll continue to do so. His leadership in the locker room has been crucial to our success. He holds himself, our players, and our coaches accountable every single day, and he\u2019s a major reason why we\u2019ve achieved the level of success we have since his arrival.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maciocia hired Maas as the team\u2019s head coach in 2023 after he was fired as the offensive coordinator of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The pair have over two decades of history dating back to their time together in Edmonton when Maciocia was on the team\u2019s coaching staff and Maas played quarterback.<\/p>\n

Maas has gone 33-19-1 in Montreal, helping the team win the Grey Cup in 2023 and winning Coach of the Year in 2024 after leading the Alouettes to a first-place finish in the East Division. The 49-year-old native of Beaver Dam, Wis. has gone 72-52-1 as a CFL head coach dating back to his four-year run with Edmonton from 2016 to 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t thank Mr. P\u00e9ladeau enough for his continued belief in what we\u2019re building,\u201d said Maas.<\/p>\n

The Montreal Alouettes (10-7) will visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (9-8) on Saturday, October 25 with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. EDT. The Alouettes are coming off back-to-back wins over the Ottawa Redblacks<\/a>, while the Blue Bombers got an ugly win over the depleted Saskatchewan Roughriders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The weather forecast in Winnipeg calls for a high of 16 degrees with sunny conditions. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS, and CTV in Canada and CFL+ internationally.
