Both the women\u2019s and men\u2019s divisions feature eight national representatives, playing round-robin plus playoff formats, vying for spots for their countries into the respective World Championships next spring. Canada is represented by the Rachel Homan foursome from Ottawa in the women\u2019s competition while Brad Jacobs\u2019 Calgary quartet is on the men\u2019s side.<\/p>\n
Canada\u2019s women are already guaranteed a spot in the Worlds next March in Calgary. The Homan squad plays their first two games tomorrow.<\/p>\n
Canada\u2019s men still need to lock down a spot into the Worlds next spring in Ogden, Utah. On the Jacobs team\u2019s schedule today\u2026<\/p>\n

The Canadian Curling Pre-Trials start today and run through Sunday in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. There are eight teams in both the women\u2019s and men\u2019s divisions, playing a round-robin plus playoffs format, with each gender division winner advancing to the Canadian Curling Trials next month in Halifax. The winners of that event will represent Canada at the Winter Olympics in Italy in February. Among the women\u2019s teams taking part are foursomes skipped by Ashley Thevenot and Nancy Martin \u2013 both from Martensville. There are no Saskatchewan teams in the men\u2019s draw.
