NASCAR<\/a> is set to announce the return of an iconic longtime sponsor with laundry detergent brand Tide making a comeback.<\/p>\n

Following Krispy Kreme\u2019s recent deal with NASCAR and broadcaster The CW to sponsor the Xfinity Series race winner\u2019s post-victory \u201cdonut\u201d burnouts at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville, Tide\u2019s iconic orange, blue, and yellow colors are set to be plastered across pit road at Phoenix Raceway for the championship race on November 2, as per Sports Business Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This news comes just a day after the second of three Round of 8 races came to a dramatic end at Talladega Superspeedway, with Joe Gibbs Racing\u2019s Chase Briscoe winning<\/a> in overtime courtesy of a well-timed push from teammate Ty Gibbs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Along the service road, an orange stripe along with Tide logos will feature down the edge of pit boxes on the asphalt, ensuring it will be clearly visible on NBC\u2019s broadcast. What\u2019s more, Tide has also partnered with the broadcaster for an ad campaign.<\/p>\n

If this wasn\u2019t enough luminous orange for fans, Michael McDowell\u2019s No. 51 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet is also set to feature an eye catching one-off Tide livery, as unveiled by the team on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This will be far from the first time Tide has featured as the main sponsor of a Cup Series entrant, having done so since the late 1980s with the likes of Darrell Waltrip, Ricky Rudd, and Matt Kenseth.<\/p>\n

As a part of this partnership, McDowell will appear in a sponsored video on social media in which he will \u201chighlight how he has five children to do laundry for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the reveal of McDowell\u2019s striking livery on social media, fans were quick to laud the design, which one branded the \u201cScheme of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said, \u201cThis was my favorite car back in the day! So happy it\u2019s returning.\u201d While a third suggested they \u201cMake it permanent!\u201d<\/p>\n

NASCAR\u2019s short term deals with Tide and Krispy-Kreme follow the arrival of other major brands in 2025 such as Arby\u2019s, with SBJ noting that the orgaization, which has struggled in ratings throughout the year, \u201cIs said to be close to signing several additional consumer-facing brands and filling some open sponsor categories heading into 2026, according to people familiar with the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Should the short-term deals with Tide and Krispy-Kreme prove successful for the brands, there is hope they could yet return.<\/p>\n

These come amidst a period of change for NASCAR, with the Playoffs in line for an overhaul in 2026, the introduction of a new road course, the return of an old oval favorite, and the increase in horsepower for select races.<\/p>\n
