Luis de la Fuente has claimed he didn\u2019t understand why Hansi Flick complained about Spain\u2019s treatment of Lamine Yamal on international duty.<\/p>\n
Flick complained that Spain hadn\u2019t been looking after their players properly after seeing Yamal return with a problem and then miss games for Barcelona.<\/p>\n
De la Fuente says he was baffled by Flick\u2019s comments and also doesn\u2019t appreciate being criticised by clubs when players pick up injuries on international duty.<\/p>\n
\u201dI didn\u2019t understand him because, among other things, he\u2019s also been a national team coach. I didn\u2019t understand it,\u201d he told El Hormiguero.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes I don\u2019t understand the clubs\u2019 position either\u2026 it\u2019s unfair to accuse the players, when all the players, all of them, are the ones who want to be in the national team.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yet the Spain boss did have some more kind words for Yamal, praising his professionalism and his attitude.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou tell me, Lamine Yamal is a rascal and he\u2019s not, he\u2019s a very good kid. A very hard worker,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s value what an 18-year-old kid does, who debuted with us at 16, who trains, competes, withstands pressure, trains\u2026 let\u2019s value all of this. Because maybe there are people who can\u2019t handle it, but Lamine can. It\u2019s very important and his attitude is worth appreciating.<\/p>\n
