When it comes to Burlington, Ont. native Shane Wright<\/a> rocking a Mariners jersey before his Seattle Kraken took on the Maple Leafs in Toronto, it’s no harm, no foul as far as the Blue Jays are concerned.<\/p>\n

“To Kraken forward Shane Wright, between us, we know how much it hurt you to put that jersey on. Consider this an open invitation to throw the first pitch at a game next season. Love, YOUR Toronto Blue Jays,” the ball club posted on social media<\/a> after its comeback Game 7 win on Monday.<\/p>\n

Ahead of Friday’s 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs, the Kraken decided to show support for a fellow Seattle sports team, and all their players wore Mariners jerseys pre-game<\/a> ahead of a pivotal Game 5 in the ALCS.<\/p>\n

It was a kind gesture between organizations, but not without some mixed feelings, as the Kraken have 17 Canadians on their roster, including Wright and captain Jordan Eberle.<\/p>\n

Wright was asked about his allegiances after he chipped in a goal and an assist in the Kraken’s second win of the season, and he admitted<\/a> that he was “pretty torn,” later adding it’s a “win-win” no matter the outcome.<\/p>\n

Sentiments that Eberle echoed.<\/p>\n

“I’m actually torn,” the Kraken captain said Saturday morning after the Mariners took a 3-2 series lead. “I’m a western Canadian. Seattle is closer to me, and they have more Canadians on the roster than Toronto does \u2026 it’s a win-win. I’d love to see the city of Seattle move on to the World Series. I’d love to see the Jays move on.”<\/p>\n

Well, the Blue Jays did move on, and now they’re ready to let by-gones be by-gones.<\/p>\n
