Dr Lydia Abela presented the Richmond Foundation with a sum of \u20ac10,600 to help the non-governmental organisation continue offering support services, therapy, and training in the field of mental health.<\/p>\n

This amount was raised during the first edition of the Nitkellem Festival, organised by the Prime Minister\u2019s wife together with the Government of Malta on 10th October,\u00a0through ticket sales for the original Kelma Kelma Nota Nota concert as well as donations from the public during the day of activities.<\/p>\n

Lydia Abela said it was satisfying to see hundreds of Maltese and Gozitans participate in the Nitkellem Festival, openly and relaxedly sharing their experiences while helping generate funds for such a worthy cause.<\/p>\n

During her meeting with the staff and professionals of the Richmond Foundation, Dr Abela said it was reassuring that there is now greater awareness about the \u201cdoors one can knock on when in need.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important that we continue sending the message that help exists. Speak up and open your heart. You will surely find someone who will listen and help you,\u201d Lydia Abela appealed.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister\u2019s wife also emphasised that work in the mental health field requires continuous effort, not only to ensure that children grow up in a less stressful environment but also to equip them with the mental tools to face life\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Richmond Foundation CEO Daniela Calleja Bitar expressed her appreciation for Dr Abela\u2019s work, not only in raising funds for voluntary organisations operating in this sector but also in ensuring that mental health remains a national priority.<\/p>\n

Both sides thanked everyone who donated during the Nitkellem Festival, as well as the organizations SOS Malta, Dar Kenn g\u0127al Sa\u0127\u0127tek, actress Simone Spiteri, and trainer Neil Agius for leading the discussions and activities.<\/p>\n

Present for the donation presentation alongside Dr Abela was actor Ray Calleja, representing Kelma Kelma Nota Nota.<\/p>\n
