Head Coach <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/coaches\/tim-ward\/938\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"938\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Ward<\/a> said. &#8220;We believe if we do that, then the rest will take care of itself.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLAST TIME OUT<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Waves had a come-from-behind win in San Diego, scoring the match-winning goal in the 85th minute to secure a 2-1 victory.&#13;<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/julia-quinonez\/5512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5512\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Quinonez<\/a> scored her ninth goal of the season Friday to equalize.&#13;<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/peyton-leonard\/5506\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5506\" target=\"_blank\">Peyton Leonard<\/a> scored her fourth of the year and second match-winning goal in the 85th minute.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nGAME NOTES<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n\tPepperdine leads the conference with 36 goals scored by 14 different players.&#13;<br \/>\n\tQuinonez leads the squad with nine goals, while Wynalda leads the team and conference with eight assists.&#13;<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/ariana-markey\/5549\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5549\" target=\"_blank\">Ariana Markey<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/alex-pendleton\/5510\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5510\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Pendleton<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/layla-simon\/5551\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5551\" target=\"_blank\">Layla Simon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/sarah-spears\/5515\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5515\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Spears<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/lily-stewart\/5516\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5516\" target=\"_blank\">Lily Stewart<\/a> have all scored their first collegiate goals this season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThrough 14 matches, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/julia-quinonez\/5512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5512\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Quinonez<\/a> leads the team in points with 21, scoring nine goals and notching three assists.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSurpassing her stats from two seasons ago where she was the WCC Freshman of the Year, Quinonez is first in the WCC in both goals and points, with nine goals and 21 points.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAs one of the captains leading the team through 14 matches, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/kyra-murphy\/5509\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5509\" target=\"_blank\">Kyra Murphy<\/a> cemented her name in the record books with five straight matches with a goal or assist\u00a0 (9\/7 &#8211; 10\/4), tying for third in program history.&#13;<br \/>\n\tWith 19 starts and six goals throughout her collegiate career entering this season, Murphy has over doubled her career points, with 13 so far this season.&#13;<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/tatum-wynalda\/5517\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5517\" target=\"_blank\">Tatum Wynalda<\/a> sits at ninth in the nation for shot accuracy with a .633 on-goal shot percentage.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLeading the team with eight assists, Wynalda has had a hand in one-third of the Waves goals this season with four herself.&#13;<br \/>\n\tWynalda is tied with <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/tabitha-laparl\/5505\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5505\" target=\"_blank\">Tabitha LaParl<\/a> to lead Pepperdine with two match-winning goals, both coming in conference matchups against Seattle and Pacific.&#13;<br \/>\n\tWynalda becomes just the 13th Wave in history to have two or more multi-assist games in a single season after the two at San Diego, currently just one match behind the top spot of three matches.&#13;<br \/>\n\tStarting in every game, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/jillian-medvecky\/5508\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5508\" target=\"_blank\">Jillian Medvecky<\/a> has collected 60 saves this season with seven shutouts, averaging just over four saves a match.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLast week, Medvecky earned her first conference honor with WCC Defensive Player of the Week, also earning an honorable mention on Top Drawer Soccer&#8217;s team of the week.\u00a0&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSERIES HISTORY<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tIn 32 matches with LMU, Pepperdine holds the advantage 18-9-5, including 9-4-4 on the road.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLast season, the Waves sole conference loss came 0-3 to the Lions in Malibu.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Waves last time at Sullivan Field in 2023 resulted in a 3-0 shutout victory.&#13;<br \/>\n\tPepperdine has not lost in back-to-back years against LMU since 2015-16, both ending in 0-1 deficits.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe last loss on the road also came in 2015, with the Lion goal occurring in overtime.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nSCOUTING THE LIONS<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tSitting at 5-5-2, LMU is looking to get back above .500 Wednesday night.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tIn the last five matches of conference battles, the Lions are 1-3-1.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLast time out,LMU tied Pacific 1-1 at home.&#13;<br \/>\n\tCallan Harrington leads the team with five goals, starting all 12 matches the Lions have played.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tCameron Bourne is the top-assist maker on the squad with three.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLoyola Marymount has been outscored 10-17 this season.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nThe match against the Lions will kickoff at 7 p.m. Friday as the Waves look to move to above .500 under the lights this season.
