{"id":230817,"date":"2025-10-22T02:33:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T02:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/230817\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T02:33:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T02:33:08","slug":"kidsability-pausing-behavioural-therapy-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/230817\/","title":{"rendered":"KidsAbility pausing behavioural therapy services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidsability.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">KidsAbility<\/a> says it has made the difficult decision to temporarily pause its Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy program as it looks to deliver the supports in a more sustainable way.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to 570 NewsRadio, a spokesperson for KidsAbility said: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pause has resulted in the a reduction of our temporary workforce, which were contract employees who were hired for a fixed duration of time. Those individuals were notified on October 20 and 21.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Wayne Lew <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidsability.ca\/2025\/10\/important-update-applied-behaviour-analysis-aba-therapy-services-at-kidsability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">posted a statement<\/a> on the KidsAbility website, which said the organization is not alone in facing challenges in delivering services through an individualized, needs-based model.<\/p>\n<p>He said the organization will focus on supporting affected families and staff through this transition.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also notes that the ABA therapy team will continue to provide care and support until the end of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>It was made clear at the end of the statement that this pause will not impact any other programs at KidsAbility.
